A 22-year-old accused of posing as a teenager and enrolling under a different last name at a Minnesota high school last fall is facing felony charges, Luxury Handbag Shopping has learned.
Kelvin M. Luebke, who allegedly walked the halls of White Bear Lake Area High School, was charged on Wednesday, April 8, with two counts of aggravated forgery and one count of forgery, according to his criminal complaint, provided to Us by the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office.
The charges come after a “concerned citizen” told police on September 29, 2025, that an adult man was potentially posing as a 17-year-old at the high school while using the name “Kelvin Ciatte Perry, Jr.,” according to a statement of probable cause.
An investigation revealed that the “student in question” had enrolled at the school while using a foreign birth certificate that indicated they were a teenager, the statement says.
Authorities soon learned that the purported student was Luebke — and that he was actually 22 years old — after discovering that he had been booked in a local jail under his true legal name, according to police. Investigators further confirmed his identity through his Minnesota driver’s license, U.S. Passport, and birth certificates.
He had previously been arrested over an alleged probation violation in connection with a March 2025 conviction for indecent exposure, The Minnesota Star Tribune reported.
White Bear Area Lake Schools Superintendent Wayne Kazmierczak said that he was enrolled as a high school student from September 3, 2025, to September 29, 2025, according to the newspaper.
It was not immediately clear whether Luebke had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
During the investigation, police spoke with Luebke’s father, who said that he had adopted Luebke from Liberia in 2009, when Luebke was 6 years old, according to the probable cause statement.
“He was primarily homeschooled but did attend Forest Lake High School for a period of time; both he and his father reported he was expelled due to behavioral issues,” the statement says.
Luebke told police that he attended Forest Lake High School “for what he described as his sophomore year before dropping out due to fighting,” the statement reads.
His father said that by age 18, Luebke moved out of his home and began living with a couple, a husband and wife who were only identified by their initials, according to authorities.
When investigators interviewed the husband, the man confirmed Luebke had been living with him and that he had no idea he enrolled at White Bear Lake Area High School, the probable cause statement says.
Luebke also confirmed to police that the “couple he was living with did not know he had enrolled for the 2025–2026 school year and that he registered as an ‘unaccompanied minor,’” according to the filing.
He said that he provided a Liberian birth certificate when enrolling as a student, the statement says.
In an October statement to school families that was obtained by KMSP-TV, Kazmierczak said Luebke had registered for the school’s football team “and participated in three practices” before authorities discovered he was not a teenager.
