Gigi Hadid attended the 2025 Met Gala solo despite just showing off her romance with Bradley Cooper with a PDA-filled photo.
The model, 30, was a vision in gold during the Monday, May 5, event — the theme of which was “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” — at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. While Hadid posed for photos, the actor was not by her side on fashion’s biggest night. Hadid did, however, make their romance Instagram official with a PDA-filled photo on Saturday, May 3.
Hadid wore Miu Miu and noted to Vogue that her gown was “a celebration of Zelda Wynn Valdes,” a groundbreaking Black designer whose career skyrocketed in the 1940s.
Hadid has been a Met Gala mainstay since her 2015 debut, wearing bold looks by DVF, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace, Michael Kors, Prada, Givenchy and Thom Browne through the years. Cooper, for his part, has attended several times, most recently in 2023.
Both Hadid and Cooper previously made red carpet debuts with their exes at past Met Galas. Hadid and Zayn Malik — who dated on and off from 2015 to 2021 and share daughter Khai, 4 — posed on a red carpet together for the first time at the 2016 soiree, while Cooper and Irina Shayk — who were an item from 2015 to 2019 and share daughter Lea De Seine, 8 — made their high-profile debut at the event in 2018.

Cooper and Hadid, meanwhile, were first linked in October 2023. Last year, reports surfaced that the couple planned to make their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party in March 2024 after he brought his mother as his date to the Academy Awards. However, the moment never happened because Hadid flew back to New York City that weekend after “she ended up taking a job and had to go back,” a source told Luxury Handbag Shopping at the time.
Two months later, Hadid walked the 2024 Met Gala red carpet solo, while Cooper did not attend the event at all.
Although the pair have kept their relationship relatively private, Hadid offered a rare glimpse at their dynamic in her April Vogue cover story.
Hadid and Cooper met at a mutual friend’s backyard birthday party for their child. She appreciated the exceedingly ordinary meet cute, telling the outlet, “You want to give yourself a normal experience of dating.”
She continued, “Even for my friends who aren’t public figures, that’s hard. Where do you go? And, what? You just start talking to people? And then there’s another added layer of privacy and security. You want to believe that people are going to have your back and not call TMZ or go on Deuxmoi or whatever, but you just don’t know.”
Hadid gushed over her “very romantic and happy” romance with Cooper but explained that the two remain tight-lipped about their connection because “it’s just not part of our relationship to share for whatever reason.”
At this point in her life, Hadid noted that “knowing what you want and deserve in a relationship is essential.”
“And then to find someone that is in a place in their life where they know what they want and deserve … and you both do work separately to come together and be the best partner that you can be,” she added. “I just feel really lucky. Yeah, lucky’s the word.”
