The mugshot of Sherrone Moore has been released, showing the former University of Michigan head football coach shortly after he allegedly broke into a staff member’s apartment and threatened to take his own life.

Moore, 39, appears to have slightly bloodshot eyes and does not smile for the camera in the photo, which was released by Washtenaw County on Wednesday, December 17.

The picture was taken on December 10, shortly after Moore allegedly barged into the apartment of a University of Michigan football staff member, with whom he was having an affair.

Moore allegedly grabbed knives out of the woman’s drawer and threatened to harm her and himself. Once the staff member got her attorney on the phone, Moore allegedly fled the apartment and was taken into custody shortly after at a nearby church.

After spending two nights at the Washtenaw County Jail, Moore was charged with one count of third-degree felony home invasion, one count misdemeanor stalking related to a domestic relationship and one count misdemeanor breaking and entering on Friday, December 12.

Moore was released on $25,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS tracking monitor, in addition to being ordered to drop all communication with the staff member.

The alleged apartment break-in came just hours after Moore was terminated by the University of Michigan after the school found “credible evidence” of Moore’s relationship with the staff member.

Moore and the staff member allegedly had a years-long relationship, which involved “a long history of domestic violence,” the staff member’s attorney, Heidi Sharp, alleged in court documents obtained by the Detroit Free Press

The alleged break-in at the staff member’s apartment came as she was preparing to leave town after cooperating with the University of Michigan’s investigation into her relationship with Moore.

“[The staff member] advised that she was carrying her belongings downstairs to leave, and while inside of her apartment she heard footsteps outside,” the court documents stated. “[She] indicated that she ran towards the door to secure it, but before she could, Mr. Moore swung the door open and barged into her apartment with tears in his eyes.”

After Moore allegedly grabbed the knives out of her kitchen drawer, the staff member claimed he pointed them at her and said, “You ruined my life. You ruined my life.”

Once the woman got her attorney on the phone, Moore allegedly “backed up and turned the knives on himself, pointing them at his neck, saying that he was going to kill himself and that she was going to watch.”

In his response to the allegations, Moore’s attorney said the former coach “admitted to removing the knives and stated that he had threatened to kill himself,” but denied physically assaulting the staff member or threatening her with any knives.

Moore has been married to his wife, Kelli, since 2015 and the couple share three daughters.

The pair was seen in public for the first time since Moore’s firing and arrest in photos published by the Daily Mail on Sunday, December 14, though Moore has yet to publicly comment on all of the allegations against him.
