Say hello to Mr. Nice Ice! Ice Cube joined Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday, June 12, to promote his movie 22 Jump Street. The actor plays the acerbic, fiery-tempered police Captain Dickson, who sends Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Jenko (Channing Tatum) to college in the 21 Jump Street sequel.
“You are very good at seeming angry,” Kimmel, 46, remarked. “I don’t know if you are angry in general.”
Ice, 44, responded, “I mean, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum… Wouldn’t they piss you off?”
Kimmel explained: “I thought it would be fun if I gave you some lines… we would not classify these lines as your typical angry-guy lines,” he continued. “I’ll read them to you if you act them back to me.”
Veteran actor Ice, who’s best known for his starring roles in Friday (1995), Barbershop (2002), and Ride Along (2014), went for it.
The first line? “Lavender body wash makes my pores tingle.”
Ice, nailing each attempt, made Kimmel at one point simply quip: “This is wonderful.”
