It’s time to step into the weekend with a game plan for your movie-watching schedule.

If Netflix is your streaming platform of choice, then you may sometimes find yourself lost in a sea of movie options — but have no fear!

Watch With Us has you covered with three great, underrated movies you may not have seen before. (And if you have seen them, now’s a great time to watch them again.)

Featuring stars like SZA, Amy Poehler and Anna Kendrick, these films offer a taste of comedy and drama for young adults and older audiences alike.

‘Moxie!’ (2021)

Put on your leather jacket — Moxie! is a loving tribute to the Riot Grrrl movement of the ’90s through a Gen Z lens. Amy Poehler directs (and appears in) this fun teen movie, in which high schooler Vivian (Hadley Robinson), fed up with the blatant sexism from the boys at her high school (especially from the loathsome Mitchell, played by Patrick Schwarzenegger), starts a feminist zine.

The project soon starts a revolution among her classmates. It’s a sweet, inspiring movie with a fantastic soundtrack full of ’90s hits.

‘One of Them Days’ (2025)

SZA and Keke Palmer star in this slice-of-life movie about two best friends on a mission — to pay rent by the end of the day. Practical Dreaux (Palmer) and dreamer Alyssa (SZA) are best friends and roommates who have each other’s backs, but when Alyssa’s boyfriend steals all their rent money, their relationship is put to the test.

One of Them Days is a hilarious love letter to both female friendship and the city of L.A. that grows ever wilder as the girls travel through the city in search of money-making strategies. It’s an instant classic that’s memorable, funny and moving.

‘Woman of the Hour’ (2024)

Anna Kendrick directs and stars in this intense thriller, which is based on the true story of serial killer Rodney Alcala, sometimes known as “The Dating Game Killer.” Kendrick plays Sheryl, based on real-life bachelorette Cheryl Bradshaw, who actually went on a date with Alcala after he appeared on the popular television show The Dating Game in 1978.
