Sophie Hessekiel

Part-time Watch With Us freelance contributor Sophie Hessekiel is an L.A.-based, New York-bred pop culture obsessive who has been covering streaming entertainment at Luxury Handbag Shopping since April 2025. More of her work can be seen in Newsweek, Mashable and The L.A. Times. She was the writers’ assistant on multiple seasons of television, including Fox’s The Cleaning Lady, where she cowrote episode 207 alongside Eddie Serrano. 

Sophie’s first real job in entertainment was working from midnight to 9 a.m.making photocopies at Good Morning America. It was there she learned that sleep is for the weak, and she’s been busy writing about media ever since — especially when that media involves messy, flawed and funny female characters.
