With a new month comes a new round of content on your favorite streaming platforms.

And while there are tons of new movies and TV shows coming to Netflix in September 2025, the Watch With Us team is especially excited about three drama series.

There’s a brand-new Netflix original, a new season of a thrilling Japanese drama and a cult classic that’s making its U.S. debut on the platform.

Find out why these Netflix series are at the top of our must-watch list for September.

‘Orphan Black’ (2013-2017)

This sci-fi thriller stars Tatiana Maslany as Sarah Manning — and several other characters. At the beginning of the series, after witnessing the suicide of a woman who looks just like her, Sarah takes over her doppelgänger’s life. She soon discovers she is not the only lookalike out there. In fact, she’s one of several identical clones, created for mysterious and sinister purposes.

Orphan Black explores the ethics of human cloning, along with themes around identity. It’s also a great showcase of Maslany’s considerable acting range since she stars as all of Sarah’s clones. This action-packed, intrigue-filled series lands on Netflix September 1 and should be at the top of your watchlist.

‘Alice in Borderland’ Season 3

The third season of Alice in Borderland arrives on Netflix September 25, making this the perfect time to catch up on the series. Based on the manga of the same name, the show follows Ryōhei Arisu (Kento Yamazaki), a video game–obsessed slacker who is transported, suddenly and without warning, into an alternate version of Tokyo.

In this nearly empty city, he must compete in deadly games to survive. Arisu forms alliances — and discovers his inner strength — to keep going. Catch up on the first two seasons now so you’re ready when season 3 drops at the end of the month.

This new original series from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is still shrouded in mystery — there hasn’t even been an official trailer yet. Here’s what we do know: it’s a period drama about the family behind the Guinness beer empire.

Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man who oversaw the brewery’s massive success, and explores the far-reaching impact of his will on his four adult children — Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn) and Ben (Fionn O’Shea). Think of the show as a cross between Succession meets The Gilded Age with some Peaky Blinders thrown in for good measure. Pour us a tall glass of that! The new series premieres September 25.
