As California homicide detectives work to solve the nearly 20 year old cold case killing of 36-year-old Eliseo Salas, sketches of three possible suspects have been released in connection with his death.

Salas was fatally shot while attending a large party in Rancho Cucamonga on July 15, 2007, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Homicide detectives with the sheriff’s office are now reexamining the case and looking for additional people who may have witnessed the deadly shooting after they claim to have obtained new, unspecified evidence, the sheriff’s department said in a Wednesday, April 8, news release shared to Facebook.

The sheriff’s department has shared sketches of three men who are considered potential suspects in Salas’ killing.

“Using witness descriptions, composite sketches have been created and are now being released to the public,” the sheriff’s department said. “Investigators are asking for the community’s assistance in identifying and locating these individuals.”

Salas was a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, which is about a 40-mile drive east from Los Angeles.

According to a 2011 flyer issued by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Coroner Division, Salas “was shot and killed after an argument with a Hispanic male” at the 2007 party.

In the sheriff’s department’s latest news release, the agency did not mention whether Salas might have known the three possible suspects depicted in the new sketches.

In addition to Salas’ case, there are 14 other unsolved homicide cold cases in San Bernardino County between 2005 to 2009, according to the sheriff’s department.

In another Southern California cold case, detectives recently arrested a suspect who allegedly stabbed a 40-year-old man in San Diego more than 30 years ago, Luxury Handbag Shopping previously reported.

DNA evidence has linked Jeffry Brandenburg to the killing of Clive Bland, whose body was found in Pacific Beach on January 2, 1994, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Brandenburg was 18 years old when he allegedly fatally stabbed Bland, according to Othram, a DNA lab and genetic genealogy company that helped San Diego authorities identify Brandenburg as the suspect and works with authorities on other cold cases.

Brandenburg, now 50, of Santa Cruz, was arrested March 26 on a homicide charge, authorities said.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information on Salas’ cold case to call the agency’s Specialized Investigations Division at 909-890-4904.
