Police have reportedly recovered the car of Linda Brown, the missing special education teacher who hasn’t been seen since Saturday, January 4, her husband revealed to local media.

Antwon Brown said that Chicago police shared with him that they located his wife’s blue Honda Civic but did not tell him where the car was found. “The update now is we found the car, so that is a positive thing,” Brown said, noting the vehicle was not damaged. “We found the car, CPD towed it.”

Chicago Police did not respond to requests seeking confirmation the car was located.

Linda, 53, was last seen on Saturday leaving her Chicago home for an acupuncture appointment her husband said she never showed up for.

“She is being missed a lot, especially by me,” the distraught husband said. “I am not eating, I am not really sleeping, so man, she needs to come home, come home.”

When Brown woke up just before 9 a.m. on Saturday, Linda had already left for her weekly acupuncture session, he said.

Antwon said he and his wife do not track each other’s phones. There are no cameras in the front or back of their townhouse, so Brown had no idea when Linda left that morning.

“Please, love on your family, because I am missing mine,” he said.

Linda is a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School in Bridgeport. The endangered woman stands 5-feet tall, and weighs between 130 and 140 pounds, according to the Chicago Police. She has a fair complexion and brown hair with matching eyes. Linda was last seen wearing shiny UGG-style boots and a long black puffy coat.

Brown said his wife took her purse, credit cards and car keys with her. Family members told ABC 7 Chicago it was not like Linda to not maintain constant contact with her husband and sister, which has them fearing the worst.

According to reports, Linda Brown had been on medical leave for unspecified mental health issues but was due to return to Robert Healy Elementary School next week.

“She has a little mental issue going on, and she took a leave of absence from her job to get help for that,” Brown told reporters. “As school was getting closer, it was kind of getting worse, like the anxiety, the panic attacks.”

Chicago Police have said that Linda “may be in need of medical assistance.”

Erin Kamradt, the school’s principal, sent a note home to families about Linda’s disappearance. “I know that news like this can cause many emotions, questions, and concerns for our school community,” she wrote, urging people who know anything to come forward. “Please know that we are partnering with the CPS Crisis Management Unit to support our students and staff members.”

Chicago Police ask that anyone with information about Linda Brown’s whereabouts to contact the detectives of Area One Special Victims Unit at (312) 747-8380. If it is easier, members of the public who spot Linda can also just dial 911 and report the sighting to local police.
