Authorities in Louisiana said that a woman was shot to death last week in her own home, allegedly by a woman who was upset with her over a perceived TikTok slight.

The Baton Rouge Police Department has confirmed to Luxury Handbag Shopping that Paulasia Banks, 19, has been booked on a single first-degree murder charge for fatally shooting Kassidy Jackson, 18, on Thursday, January 8.

According to police, when Jackson answered a knock at the door that day, she was greeted by Banks and two men who have not been identified by police.

All three allegedly forced their way into Jackson’s home, where Banks allegedly demanded to know why she had been blocked on popular social media platform TikTok.

Police responding to 911 calls about possible gunfire that originated from the area and they found Jackson suffering from a single gunshot.

Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department took the wounded woman to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where she later died despite the efforts of medical staffers.

Banks was arrested hours later, police said.

The Advocate, citing an arrest affidavit filed in the case, reported that once she was inside her house, Banks confronted Jackson about the TikTok snub. She also demanded to know why Jackson was not reachable by phone between noon and 1:30 p.m. that day, police alleged.

The paper reports Banks and another woman, who was not identified in court papers, began fighting inside the house. At some point, though, the unidentified woman told police that she left the room to go check on a child who was in another area of the home. That is when she heard a gunshot. She said she ran to Jackson and found her splayed out on the floor.

Banks and the two men fled the scene in a vehicle registered to Banks, according to police.

Speaking to cops, Banks allegedly said that she had confronted Jackson in the kitchen of the home but claimed that Jackson had physically forced her out of the home before slamming the door. Banks then went on to say that she fired a gun through the door, striking Jackson, according to the affidavit.

She could not recall how many times she fired the gun.

Banks further claimed to police that she and Jackson had been dating for several months. But the other woman who was at the scene during the fatal encounter told police the two were not in a romantic relationship.

Banks also allegedly told police that she met up with a man in the neighborhood to borrow his gun to “check on” Jackson, according to the Advocate.

Banks has also been charged with aggravated burglary, police said. At press time, it was unclear if she had appeared before a judge to enter pleas. Information about her defense lawyer was also not available to Luxury Handbag Shopping.

Banks is being held without any bond. A review of online court records fails to indicate when she will be arraigned.

Police continue to investigate and hope to identify the two men who could be charged for not helping Jackson.
