Federal authorities have arrested a middle school teacher’s aide who they allege traveled from Pennsylvania to Texas to sexually assault a child.
The arrest of Michael Robinson comes more than a year after his alleged crimes.
A statement from the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crimes Fugitive Task Force and Radnor Township Police claims that Robinson, 43, had been wanted by the Tyler Police Department in Texas for aggravated sexual assault of a child under 15 years old
Investigators allege that Robinson met the juvenile victim online in August 2024, then traveled to Tyler where police said he sexually assaulted the child over the course of an entire weekend.
It was unclear on which website or platform Robinson met the child.
He then returned to Pennsylvania, police said, and his job at the Radnor Township Middle School.
Robinson was indicted by a grand jury in December 2025, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
“During the course of the investigation, information was developed that Robinson was employed at the Radnor Township Middle School as a paraprofessional,” read a statement on his arrest. “At approximately 7:30 a.m. [on Thursday, February 26], investigators from the Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia and Radnor Police Officers observed Robinson in the 200 block of Windermere Avenue. Robinson was then arrested without incident and transported to the Radnor Township Police Department for processing.”
According to authorities, Robinson was arrested before the start of classes on Thursday.
The educator is currently being held at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility as he awaits extradition proceedings. It was unclear if he had legal representation in either Texas or Pennsylvania, so there was no telling if Robinson intends on fighting his extradition.
“Crimes against children are some of the most serious warrants our task force investigates,” said Robert Clark, who is the Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal for the Eastern Pennsylvania Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force. “Mr. Robinson’s arrest demonstrates sexual predators will always be pursued relentlessly by the Marshals Service.”
A representative for the Radnor Township School District told local news outlets that Robinson worked at Radnor Township Middle School as a teacher’s aide.
“The district is cooperating fully with law enforcement,” the spokesperson is quoted as saying in the Delaware County Daily Times. “Parents of the limited number of children to whom the employee was assigned were contacted by the administration immediately.”
Robinson has been placed on leave pending the outcome of his criminal case, and will have zero contact with students, according to the spokesperson, who added there were no red flags during the educator’s background checks.
The school is making counseling resources available to students who need them, according to the spokesperson.
It was unclear if Pennsylvania authorities would be conducting their own investigation into Robinson.
