A former teacher was arrested this week in Georgia, where authorities have accused her of sexually assaulting a student.

Danielle Weaver was arrested by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, February 18. She has since posted a $50,000 bond for her release.

Luxury Handbag Shopping tried numbers associated with Weaver, 29, on Friday, February 20, but was unable to reach her for comment.

Weaver is charged with child molestation and sexual assault by a teacher, principal or other administrator. There is no clear information available concerning possible pleas she may have entered. It does not appear she has an attorney yet.

Weaver, who has resigned from her position as a ninth-grade teacher, was investigated by the Leesburg Police Department, who were notified about a tip received by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on February 3.

Police obtained warrants for Weaver’s arrest, and she ended up turning herself over to authorities.

The Lee County School System provided a statement to WALB, that said, “Reports and rumors are circulating concerning alleged inappropriate contact between a teacher and student in a Lee County School System school. We, at the 9th grade campus, can confirm that there is an ongoing legal investigation involving law enforcement concerning the alleged conduct of a former staff member who is no longer working for the district.”

“Upon discovering the allegations, school and district leadership acted immediately to ensure the safety and well-being of students, as well as to conduct a thorough investigation,” the statement added.

“The individuals who have been directly affected have been contacted,” the statement continued. “The district will continue to cooperate with law enforcement, as well as with those affected, to ensure that no obstacles to resolving the investigation exist. The safety and well-being of our students remains our highest priority. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.”

The GBI has not provided any information on the specific allegations that led to the teacher’s arrest.

The student’s age was not disclosed by police, but local reports indicate he may have been 15. It was also unclear what actually prompted the tip to state authorities, and who made that call.

Weaver is married with two children, according to her social media profiles.
