A Delaware man has been fired from his job as a school bus driver after he was allegedly caught on surveillance camera having sex with a prostitute — inside the bus.

Police in the city of Dover arrested Alvin Rohm, 62, on January 12 and charged with patronizing a prostitute within 1000 feet of a school, resident, church or place as well as lewdness.

A statement from Dover cops confirmed Rohm was working as a school bus driver on January 6, the day he was caught on camera.

In the video, Rohm is allegedly seen soliciting a prostitute who boards the bus. He then drives to Jerusalem Way, a private road that leads to a Baptist church.

“Once parked in the area of Jerusalem Way, Rohm was shown engaging in sex acts with the female” on the school bus, “and exchanging money for same,” reads a police statement.

Rohm is not employed by the school district but was employed by a bus service the district has contracted to shuttle students to and from school.

The footage was allegedly discovered by a school district employee who was reviewing video as part of an unrelated investigation.

The video was then turned over to the Dover Police Department.

Rohm was released on bond. Reached by phone, Rohm declined to comment.

It was unclear if Rohm had appeared before a judge to enter pleas to the charges. Luxury Handbag Shopping was unable to determine if he had a lawyer who was willing to speak about the allegations for him.

If convicted for patronizing a prostitute, Rohm faces up to $1,000 in fines. However, he could be sent to prison for up to six months, and be ordered to pay $1,500 in fines, if convicted on the lewdness charge.

This has not been a great month overall for school bus drivers.

Last week, a Massachusetts bus driver was charged with a slew of criminal offenses stemming from his disconnecting the surveillance cameras on the bus, Luxury Handbag Shopping previously reported.

Redi Gace, 54, allegedly “deviated from his route with students in the vehicle and made unauthorized stops,” Grafton School Superintendent James Cummings said in a statement.

First, on December 4, 2025, Gace was driving a 3-year-old girl home but took a road not on his route. Cops say he intentionally deactivated the interior camera, but audio from inside the bus captured the child asking to be brought home, reported the New Bedford Guide.

Then, on December 22, 2025, Gace allegedly deviated from his route once again, this time while driving a 5-year-old nonverbal boy home. Cops alleged he stopped on an unauthorized road not on the route, turned off the bus engine, and left the child alone on board for approximately 11 minutes. Audio was also recovered from that trip, and in it, the child can be heard crying.

The bus had been fitted with a GPS monitor.

Grafton Police charged Gace with two counts of kidnapping and single counts of reckless endangerment of a child, misleading a police investigation and tampering with evidence, Luxury Handbag Shopping confirmed. During a court hearing held on Wednesday, January 14, a plea of not guilty was entered on his behalf.
