Two California children have been missing since their mother was found dead inside a Sacramento home more than a year ago.

The FBI and the Sacramento Police Department are actively searching for siblings Athena and Mateo Lee – as well as their father, Camron Lee, 40, who is suspected of killing their mother, Angelica Bravo, in July 2024, according to the FBI.

“Keep your eyes open and help us find our grandchildren,” Dawn Bodea, the children’s grandmother, said in a recent interview with KCRA-TV.

“Things are just a lot quieter now … Our life is not as full; it seems more empty without them,” Bodea said.

The FBI is offering a $25,000 reward for any information that leads to Camron and his arrest in connection with Bravo’s death, the agency said in a December 23, 2025, news release.

The FBI is separately offering a $25,000 reward for information on Athena and Mateo’s whereabouts.

Athena is now 5 and Mateo is now 3. He will turn 4 in a couple of days, on January 31, according to the FBI.

Camron, who is from Sacramento, is accused of fleeing prosecution after Bravo, who the FBI described as his partner, was found dead inside a house on July 8, 2024, the agency said.

After officers were called to the home that day, they located Bravo’s body, according to the FBI.

Athena and Mateo, who lived with Bravo, were nowhere to be found, the agency said. They “may have been with Lee,” according to the FBI.

Lee was spotted that day heading south of the border into Mexico, the agency said.

In August 2024, federal law enforcement issued an arrest warrant for Camron for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, according to the FBI.

In March 2025, Lee was charged with a state murder count in relation to Bravo’s killing, according to the FBI.

After her death, Bravo was found with several scrapes and contusions on her face and body, according to the Sacramento County coroner, CBS News reported. Her tongue also had been bleeding, officials said.

The murder charge against Lee came after the Sacramento County coroner determined “homicidal violence could not be ruled out as a potential cause of death,” the FBI said.

The FBI did not immediately return Luxury Handbag Shopping’s request for comment on Thursday, January 29.

While referring to Athena, Mateo and their loved ones, Gina Swankie, a spokesperson for the FBI Sacramento Field Office, told CBS News that “It feels like a failure to us every day that goes by that we haven’t been able to reunite them.”

When Athena was last seen, she had brown hair, brown eyes, stood 3-foot-2 and weighed about 40 pounds. Mateo also had brown hair, brown eyes, was 2-foot-5 and weighed about 25 pounds, according to the FBI.

“Bravo’s family has suffered for over a year as they mourn the loss of Angelica and fear for the safety of Athena and Mateo,” Sid Patel, special agent in charge of the FBI Sacramento Field Office, said in a statement in December. “We urge anyone with information related to the whereabouts of Lee and his children to come forward.”

Camron — who the FBI said is also known as Saroeun Chea, Tae Won Lee, Taewon Lee, or “Major” — is described as an Asian man with black hair, brown eyes and several tattoos. He is also 5-foot-9 and weighs around 180 pounds, according to the FBI.
