Police in California have arrested four people for their alleged roles in a murder-for-hire plot that was carried out in January, Luxury Handbag Shopping has learned.
Ignacia Cadaos Perkins has been accused of paying a hitman to kill her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Parr.
The planned, professional hit happened just before 9 a.m. on January 13 in Murrieta, according to police.
Perkins, 40, is facing three murder-related charges stemming from Parr’s killing.
Parr, 30, was found dead on January 13 inside an apartment in the 24000 block of Jackson Avenue, Murrieta Police Department confirmed.
So far, investigators have not disclosed how Parr was killed.
Then, just days after Parr’s funeral, Perkins and Alabama man James Lawrence Petri — characterized as an acquaintance of Perkins — were both arrested on January 29. Authorities suspect that the murder was financially motivated.
From all available information, it was unclear if Perkins and Petri, 43, had attorneys or were asked to enter pleas.
Police said on Friday, March 20, two additional men were also arrested in California for their alleged ties to the killing.
Jerry Wheeler, 34, of Georgia and Kenneth Maxwell, 39, of Alabama, are also alleged to have participated in the murder plot. They are also facing three murder-related charges and will soon be extradited to California to face trial.
Police have not said who played what exact role in the murder-for-hire, beyond Perkins paying for the assassination.
Wheeler and Maxwell will be extradited to California to face trial, police said.
Parr was the father of two young children, according to his obituary. It was unclear what Perkins’ relationship might be to his children.
“They were his whole world. Everything in his life revolved around them,” the obituary reads. “If you stepped into his apartment, you would see it immediately: drawings and notes taped and featured on poster boards, toys scattered across the floor, small reminders everywhere of what mattered most to him. He gave every ounce of himself to being present, dependable, and loving, and his children always came first.”
At his funeral services on January 24, 2026, in Mansfield, Ohio, someone said that “Aaron was a beloved son, brother, friend and father whose life was marked by quiet strength, steady perseverance, and a deep capacity for love. He will be missed.”
Murrieta Police said the investigation into the murder-for-hire continues.
