An 18-year-old was arrested in Florida after he allegedly beat and raped a woman who had been panhandling, according to authorities.
Jamarcus Giscombe was arrested March 6 on charges of false imprisonment, sexual battery with a deadly weapon or physical force and aggravated battery involving great bodily harm in connection with the assault, court records viewed by Luxury Handbag Shopping show.
Giscombe is a student at a Brevard County High School, WESH reported.
Us contacted Brevard Public Schools for comment on Monday, March 16, and did not receive an immediate response.
Giscombe’s arrest comes after he allegedly picked up a woman who had been panhandling in Orlando, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit obtained by Us.
He is accused of driving the woman to a Nissan dealership in Orlando, where he “told her that she was going to” perform oral sex on him, the affidavit states.
After the woman said no, Giscombe “began to hit her multiple times,” according to the filing.
When she got out of the car, Giscombe continued to pursue her for oral sex, the affidavit says.
She refused again, resulting in Giscombe allegedly hitting her several times, according to the filing.
The woman tried to flee, but Giscombe attacked her further, ripped her clothing and allegedly raped her in the parking lot of the Nissan dealership, the affidavit says.
Following the assault, Giscombe went back to the car he had picked the woman up in, according to the filing, which says the vehicle was reported as stolen.
The woman, while naked and injured, ran to a nearby Wawa and asked for someone to call police, according to the affidavit.
“Once deputies arrived on scene, they observed multiple injuries on the victim’s body,” the affidavit says.
During an investigation, Giscombe was identified as a suspect, according to the filing.
In an interview with detectives, Giscombe said that he encountered the woman while she was panhandling on the road near a red light and that she allegedly offered to perform oral sex, the affidavit says.
Giscombe told detectives he agreed to the offer and drove her to a local car dealership, according to the affidavit.
“While at the dealership, [the woman] told him he needed to pay her to have sexual intercourse with her, however Jamarcus refused,” the affidavit says.
Following Giscombe’s initial statement, he “changed his story and confirmed he had” raped the woman “after they engaged in the physical altercation in which he dragged and battered her,” the filing continues.
“Jamarcus confirmed he was ‘thinking with [his] penis,’” the affidavit says.
Giscombe was ordered to be held in custody without bond on March 11, court records show.
