Shannen Doherty’s estate is accusing her ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko of refusing to pay the money he owes to the late actress, Luxury Handbag Shopping can exclusively report.
On November 24, Christopher Cortazzo, the trustee of Doherty’s trust and executor of her will, filed court documents calling out Iswarienko for not complying with the divorce settlement executed one day before the Doherty’s’ death in July. (Doherty battled cancer for years before she died at age 53.)
In the docs, Cortazzo claimed Iswarienko failed to list a home in Dripping Springs, Texas, for sale. Per the settlement, Iswarienko was to split the proceeds of the home with Doherty. The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home is worth an estimated $1.5 million and is not on the market currently.
In addition, the estate claims Iswarienko has failed to produce a list of his artwork and return items owned by Doherty. The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum was to receive one-half of the licensing fees he is paid for his photographs.
The original settlement read, “[Doherty] shall receive one-half of all licensing/syndication fees that [Iswarienko] receives from any and all works as used herein means all photographs, images, and graphics, including still photographs, panoramic images, video recordings, and virtual tours, taken or created by [Iswarienko], and any derivative works of such photographs or other images, intended to be licensed, exhibited, distributed or otherwise released to any individual … created by [Iswarienko] during the parties’ marriage (October 15, 2011 through January 15, 2023).”
As part of the settlement, Iswarienko agreed to buy out Doherty’s interest in a Mooney M-20 airplane and sell a hangar related to the plane. Cortazzo said Iswarienko failed to pay the estate its cut of $50,274. Iswarienko has yet to respond to the motion.
In the settlement, worked out in her final days, Doherty was awarded her $9 million mansion in Malibu, California, and all of the furniture in the property. She also kept several bank and retirement accounts. The deal provided Doherty with her SAG producer’s pension plan and all interest in her production company.
Doherty was awarded all of her premarital and post-separation income. On top of that, she walked away with all of her past and future residuals for Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed. Doherty also negotiated that she would keep a Salvador Dali painting, a 1979 Ford Pickup Truck, a 2007 Range Rover and a 2019 Range Rover.
Iswarienko received the plane, after buying out Doherty’s interest, multiple bank accounts, his various companies for work, several expensive music pieces and various other items related to his work.
Doherty waived her right to collect spousal support from her ex-husband. In her final months, the actress submitted an emotional declaration in court detailing her financial situation.
“As a result of my recurrent health issues, I have been largely unable to work and have no future employment prospects,” Doherty told the court. “Today, virtually all of the income I earn is residual income from work that I performed prior to marriage. The majority of my residual income is from a television show called Charmed. I recently learned that Charmed will no longer be streaming on any major streaming platform after June 30, 2024. As a result, my future residual income will dramatically decrease. My year-to-date income is $25,732.90.”
Doherty explained at the time, “I have not worked since 2022.”
The actress wed Iswarienko in 2011, and she filed for divorce in 2023.
Doherty said before her death that she wanted her ashes spread around Malibu because the city reminded her of times with her father.
