Shahs of Sunset’s Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid and her estranged husband, Tommy Feight, worked out an agreement over custody and visitation of their 6-year-old son, Luxury Handbag Shopping can exclusively report.
On Thursday, December 18, Javid, 53, and Feight, 53, decided to walk into mediation, without an appointment, to work out their issues over their son, Shams. The exes were able to hash out a deal and submitted it to the court.
The judge signed off on the deal the same day. As Us first reported, Javid filed for divorce on October 17 after seven years of marriage.
Javid asked the court to award her primary legal and physical custody of Shams, with Feight being granted visitation. Feight filed court docs opposing Javid’s request for primary custody of their kid.
Feight pleaded with the judge to grant him joint legal and physical custody of Shams.
In his response, Feight included a declaration where he argued he was a good dad.
“I am an involved and committed father to our son,” Feight said. “I participate fully in his daily routine, including school drop-offs and pickups, bedtime, meals, activities and homework.”
“I have a strong, loving relationship with him and he is comfortable, safe and happy in my care,” Feight added. Feight said he is “able to continue a consistent and stable parenting schedule.”
“I believe it is in our son’s best interest to have frequent and continuing contact with both parents. I respectfully request joint legal and physical custody, and a parenting schedule that reflects the involved role I have always had in his life,” Feight said as he pleaded for Javid’s custody demand to be shut down.
Javid had a different take on the matter.
The reality star alleged, “I have been the parent primarily involved in the caregiving and overall needs of our minor son. I take our son to school and pick him up every day. I also organize and take our son to his play-dates, parties, doctor’s, and dentist’s appointments.”
“Likewise, I am responsible for his extracurricular activities and school activities with little to no involvement from [Feight],” Javid claimed. “My hours of employment are entirely within my control which allow me the flexibility to continue being primarily responsible for our son in this way.”
“By no means do I want to alienate [Feight] from our son and I am more than happy to mutually agree to additional visitations,” she wrote.
In her petition, Javid listed the date of marriage as March 21, 2018, and the date of separation as the date of the filing. Feight did not disagree with Javid on the date of separation.
In the paperwork, the Bravo star said “irreconcilable differences” was the reason for the split. She asked that neither party be awarded spousal support.
Javid was a star on Shahs of Sunset from season 1 to season 9. The show was canceled in 2022.
Bravo announced in May that Javid and two of her Shahs of Sunset costars, Reza Farahan and Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, would be returning with a new reality show called The Valley: Persian Style.
