Romeo Beckham drew a definitive line in the sand amid a rumored ongoing feud with his older brother, Brooklyn Beckham.
On Thursday, May 8, Romeo, 22, shared a photo via Instagram of himself, his father, David Beckham, and his younger brother, Cruz Beckham, smiling at David’s 50th birthday party over the weekend.
Romeo captioned the image with a white heart emoji.
The post comes as the Beckham family is embroiled in a reported falling out with Brooklyn, 26, who chose not to attend David’s birthday party on Saturday, May 3.
A source exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping that Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, requested a “separate meet-up” with David, which he and his wife, Victoria Beckham, did not agree to.
Brooklyn was reportedly looking to avoid interacting with Romeo’s girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, whose relationship with Romeo has driven a wedge between the brothers.
“David and Victoria are over it,” the source told Us. “They’ve thrown in the towel over the whole thing.”
The 50th birthday party was attended by Cruz, 20, Romeo, Turnbull, 24, and David and Victoria’s daughter Harper, 13.
“David and Victoria just want to treat everyone the same and approach life like a family and the family does things a certain way,” the source explained. “But Brooklyn isn’t playing it like that, and everything is a drama.”
The source added, “They just tell the whole family there’s a party, ‘Here’s the time, here’s the date.’ It’s not that complicated. Everyone else seems OK with it.”
A second source told Luxury Handbag Shopping that there is also tension between Victoria, 51, and her daughter-in-law, Nicola, 30, which dates back to before she married Brooklyn in April 2022.
“Things never really got smoothed over, and you can tell it still affects everyone,” the source explained. “The tension is still present and it’s hard for Brooklyn at times. Brooklyn’s having a tough time with it. He’s super stubborn and just wants space from his family right now.”
The insider added, “He completely supports and stands by Nicola, and it has put a rift in his relationship with his parents. Nicola is outspoken and that is what has caused tension with his parents. She will defend Brooklyn a lot and is defensive. Brooklyn will always be on Nicola’s side, and that’s made things even more tense between him and his parents.”
David and Victoria are ready for the “drama to stop,” but after Brooklyn refused to attend David’s birthday party, they are “taking space” for now.
“They’re really upset that it’s all become so public,” the source said. “It’s embarrassing for them, especially since they’ve always tried to come across as this super tight, united family. Victoria wants all of her kids to get along and wants everyone to move on. It’s upsetting for her to see as a mother.”
