Summer House’s Kyle Cooke Addresses ‘Financial Implications’ of Amanda Batula Split Amid Loverboy Debt

Summer House’s Kyle Cooke is clearing the air about how the debt from his Loverboy business may affect his split from wife Amanda Batula.

During a street interview with podcaster Adam Glyn, Cooke, 43, was asked if he had any “fear” that Batula, 34, would “get some of [his] debt” in a potential divorce.

“I’ve seen a bunch of videos pop up, talking about divorce and the financial implications,” Cooke told Glyn in a TikTok video published on Thursday, January 22. “I don’t think a lot of people really understand the intricacies of my business to begin with. Is there debt? Yeah, I took a small business loan.”

Cooke added that although he has “no idea” what the future holds for him and Batula, they “don’t really plan” to get to a point of an expensive divorce battle.

Glyn also pointed out that Cooke and Batula are separated right now, but they have not said they plan to divorce yet.

“I think I just hope that we both find happiness, whatever the heck that looks like,” Cooke concluded.

Cooke and Batula announced their split via social media on Monday, January 19.

“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” the pair shared in a joint statement. “We share this with a heavy heart and kindly ask for your grace and support while we focus on our personal growth and healing.”

The statement continued, “It feels ironic to ask for privacy during this time, since we’ve always tried to be open and honest about our relationship, but your kindness and respect will go a long way as we try to navigate our next chapter.”

Cooke’s comments on Thursday come amid reports that he and Batula could face a messy divorce after the reality TV personality revealed in 2022 that he was $4 million in debt because of a loan for his Loverboy business, which he founded in 2018.

“I’m in a lawsuit. I’ve spent $200,000 on legal fees this month. I’m $4 million in debt with the loan for my business. Everything is on the line,” Cooke said during an episode of Summer House at the time. (The episode was filmed in 2021.)

Cooke exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping after the episode aired that he “didn’t mean to blurt out [his] legal woes.”

“Sometimes … my cup has runneth over and I just — I don’t think people appreciate [my openness],” he added.

Fans have also wondered about the implications of the couple not signing a prenup before their September 2021 wedding. In a June 2025 “Trading Secrets” podcast clip that recently resurfaced amid the split, Batula said she regretted not getting a prenup with Cooke.

“I messed up major. I don’t know if it was the movies we watched growing up or the tabloids, but prenup had such a negative connotation,” she explained at the time. “It was connected to divorce. It always felt so messy. You would see celebrities, prenup this, prenup that. It didn’t feel like a smart thing to do, so we didn’t sign one.”

Batula added that she now believed “everyone should sign a prenup.”

“Protect your assets, for them to protect theirs. You have no idea what is going to happen. You think you’re in love and happy now, it could end really messy, and then what, you’re screwed,” she continued. “Everyone should get a prenup. Hear it from the girl that didn’t get one.”

Cooke declined to comment on when he and Batula separated during his interview on Thursday. However, a source told Us after the split was announced that the two “were having ongoing issues all summer and decided to separate in the fall.”

“They are on completely different wavelengths,” the source told Us. “Over time, it became impossible to ignore that they were no longer aligned.”
