Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke’s relationship issues were building for months before the pair announced their split, a source exclusively tells Luxury Handbag Shopping.
“They were having ongoing issues all summer and decided to separate in the fall,” the insider says of the Summer House costars.
The source reveals that “technically” Batula, 34, and Cooke, 43, were “separated” at BravoCon 2025 that November, but “kept it under wraps.”
Prior to announcing their separation earlier this month, Batula “realized that Kyle’s behavior was not changing,” the source says. (Batula and Cooke tied the knot in September 2021 after six years of dating.)
Batula hit her “breaking point” after Cooke was caught “sleeping at a fan’s house” — a situation he addressed in December 2025 — and was still “staying out late and partying like he is in his 20’s, and not understanding her needs after they had multiple conversations,” according to the insider.
“She felt unheard and emotionally exhausted,” the source tells Us, adding that both Batula and Cooke “realized they are on different pages and don’t want the same things in life anymore.”
While Cooke is “deeply upset by the separation and didn’t expect things to reach this point,” the insider says he “understood he cannot be what Amanda wants.”

Despite believing “there was still time to work through their issues,” Cooke is aware that his upcoming DJ tour doesn’t afford him any real time to work on his and Batula’s marriage, especially since Batula “wants to settle down,” the source adds.
“They are on completely different wavelengths. Over time, it became impossible to ignore that they were no longer aligned,” the insider explains. (Us reached out to Bravo but did not hear back.)
Summer House fans have been part of Batula and Cooke’s relationship from the start — which has been documented since season 1 of the series — so their marital issues were no secret.
News of the estranged couple’s split was also “not shocking” to their friends, the source adds, telling Us, “It has been a long time coming, but their circle is sad about it.”
Even though Batula and Cooke sparked split speculation in early fall 2025, the swimwear designer denied they were living apart in December 2025. According to the insider, Batula “got her own apartment in New York City and has been living there for two months now.”
Once Batula began focusing on her health and found the right medication for her depression and mental health, she “really poured herself into work she is passionate about,” the insider shares, noting that the reality star “started realizing how independent she is and unfulfilled she was in her marriage.”
Batula was “finally done feeling disappointed by him,” the insider says, adding that she “wants to divorce but neither of them have lawyers or any place in place.”
A source close to the couple reiterates that their split can’t be simplified to “one incident or situation,” noting that Batula and Cooke have “always been authentic and vulnerable, and fought for their relationship.”
The insider adds, “It’s upsetting people are trying to speak on behalf of Kyle and Amanda when all they asked for was privacy and grace as they navigate through this difficult time.”
Fans, meanwhile, will see the rocky end of Batula and Cooke’s relationship when season 10 of Summer House premieres next month.
“We’re figuring out what we want out of life and out of the relationship,” Batula exclusively told Us weeks before she and Cooke confirmed their split. “We’re sort of trying to talk through that and figure it all out in real time. It’s going to be a very raw season.”
Cooke also teased what viewers will see on screen, telling Us, “There’s no particular issue — what you’re seeing is a 10-year relationship. … A lot of people don’t make it very far, and that’s on or off camera.”
