Dwight Howard is moving forward with his divorce.
Court documents obtained exclusively by Luxury Handbag Shopping reveal Amy Luciani (real name Amber Howard) was served divorce papers on Thursday, March 12, after Howard claimed his ex is jobless and might “attempt to evade service.”
Luciani was handed all the necessary paperwork related to the case by a process server at 2:50 p.m. while staying at a Georgia residence. Howard’s ex confirmed her identity and told the server she was “alone with her two dogs” before the exchange took place.
Howard requested a specific process server on March 10, warning the court that his ex “is very mobile during the day and her permanent address is unknown thus she will be difficult to track down.”

He also noted she “does not have a job,” and he believed she might “attempt to evade service.”
Luciani has yet to respond to Howard’s divorce petition, despite sources telling TMZ she had planned to file first before her ex beat her to the punch.
Us reached out to Howard’s attorney for comment. A lawyer for Luciani is not publicly listed at the time of publication.
This is the third time the estranged couple has filed to end their marriage after just one year.
The ex-NBA star previously filed for divorce in June 2025, but the filing was later dismissed. Luciani, meanwhile, filed for divorce in July 2025, but her petition was also dismissed.
In his filing, dated on March 9 and obtained by Us, Howard listed the couple’s marriage as “irretrievably broken” and noted there was “no hope of reconciliation.”
He also requested exclusive access to their marital home and listed their date of marriage as on or about January 11, 2025.
Howard has five children with five different women, but none with Luciani.
The former athlete filed for divorce after Luciani alleged he had a drug issue and that Child Protective Services removed his daughter from their home.
Howard later addressed her accusations.
“Never done Coke in my life,” he wrote via Snapchat on March 11. Howard also urged his followers not to believe everything they read online.
This divorce is just the latest legal battle for the eight-time NBA All-Star.
As Us exclusively reported, Howard was sued by his ex-assistant for alleged unpaid wages and emotional distress in December 2025.
In the filing, Terrence Hudson claimed he worked for Howard and Luciani as their house security, domestic manager and the ex-athlete’s personal assistant from June 25, 2025, to October 8, 2025.
According to Hudson, Howard agreed to pay him $2,000 per week for his services, but allegedly gave him “inconsistent payments totaling $8,137.54” for 15 weeks.
When the staffer demanded payment, he claimed he was “forced from the home.”
Hudson is demanding a total of $40,702.06, which he claims includes $30,702.06 for unpaid wages and $10,000 for emotional distress and “unjust enrichment.”
This isn’t the first time Howard was accused of failing to pay his employees, either.
In 2020, he was sued by two former female staffers, Armica Nabaa and Kamisha Shelman, who claimed they worked as his personal assistants in 2018 but were forced to handle extra duties when he allegedly fired his groundskeeper, butler and maid.
One of those tasks allegedly included caring for Howard’s 200-pound snake.
The woman claimed they were blindsided when Howard later fired them and demanded $50,000 each in unpaid wages and damages. Court records show the lawsuit was dismissed in 2023.
