Dwight Howard is being sued by a man claiming to be his ex-assistant for alleged unpaid wages and emotional distress amid the former NBA star’s messy divorce with Amy Luciani, Luxury Handbag Shopping can exclusively report.
In court documents obtained by Us, Terrence Hudson alleged he worked for Howard, 40, and Luciani (real name Amber) as the couple’s house security and domestic manager, in addition to serving as the athlete’s personal assistant, from June 25, 2025, to October 8, 2025.
Hudson claimed they agreed to pay him $2,000 per week, but Howard allegedly gave him “inconsistent payments totaling $8,137.54” for 15 weeks.
During his employment, Hudson alleged his job duties included “training” the basketball legend for the Big3 to mundane tasks like driving Howard around, running errands and buying food for his kids.

In the December 2025 filing, Hudson stated that when he sent a certified letter to Howard demanding payment, his request was “declined.”
According to Hudson, he was “forced from the home with unjust enrichment due to none [sic] payment for over a month.”
He’s demanding a total of $40,702.06, which he claims includes $30,702.06 for unpaid wages and $10,000 for emotional distress and “unjust enrichment.”
The case is still pending, per court records, with Hudson threatening to file labor complaints if the amount is not paid.

This isn’t the first time the All-Star has been accused of stiffing his staff.
In December 2020, Howard was sued by two former female employees, Armica Nabaa and Kamisha Shelman, who claimed they worked as his personal assistants in 2018 and were forced to care for his 200-pound snake, TMZ previously reported.
The women claimed they were hired to handle Howard’s business affairs and administrative tasks, but their duties expanded after he allegedly fired his groundskeeper, butler and maid.
Nabaa and Shelman said they were blindsided when Howard later fired them as well. They demanded $50,000 each in unpaid wages and damages. The suit was dismissed in 2023, according to court records.
The latest lawsuit was brought to light after Howard filed for divorce from his wife after only one year of marriage.
The documents, dated Monday, March 9, and obtained by Us, listed the couple’s marriage as “irretrievably broken,” adding that there is “no hope of reconciliation.”
Howard said their date of marriage as on or about January 11, 2025, and is demanding exclusive access to his home in the filing.
This is the third time the estranged couple has filed to end their short marriage.
Howard previously filed for divorce in June 2025, but it was later dismissed. Luciani, meanwhile, filed for divorce in July 2025, but her petition was also dismissed.
Their split comes on the heels of Luciani blasting Howard on Instagram Live, claiming he has a drug issue and alleging that Child Protective Services removed his daughter from their home, per Just Jared. Howard clapped back at her accusations on Wednesday, March 11, via Snapchat.
“Never done Coke in my life,” he wrote. Howard also urged his followers not to believe everything they read online.
While the former NBA star shares no children with Luciani, he shares five children with five different women.
Howard first became a dad when he welcomed son Braylon in 2007 with then-partner Royce Reed. Three years later, he welcomed daughter Layla with then-girlfriend Tiffany Render, followed by daughter Jayde with Hope Alexa that same year. In 2013, Howard had two sons: Dwight III with Christine Vest and David with then-girlfriend Melissa Rios.
