The Cleaning Lady hairstylist Danielle Vigil has denied observing anything “unprofessional, inappropriate or sexual” between Timothy Busfield and the twin boys who starred on the show in a new declaration obtained exclusively by Luxury Handbag Shopping.

“The detective did not include in his account of my interview that I stated that I never saw Timothy Busfield touching either [twin 1] or [twin 2] inappropriately, that I did not perceive any inappropriate or sexual undertone regarding the incident I described in the trailer, and incorrectly made it sound like I personally thought that Timothy Busfield was ‘creepy,’” Vigil wrote in the declaration dated Tuesday, January 20.

“I am making this declaration to clarify the circumstances of my conversation with the detective and the context in which my statements were made,” she added. (In Busfield’s arrest warrant, Vigil told officers she saw the Cleaning Lady director kiss two kids on their foreheads in one of the trailers on set, but said it was the children who replaced the twins).

Vigil explained that she worked on all four seasons of The Cleaning Lady in the hair department and was “unhappy” with how her December 2025 police interview was described in Busfield’s arrest warrant obtained by Us.

She said she was “caught off guard” when law enforcement called her and didn’t know she was being recorded (New Mexico is a one-party consent state). Vigil claimed she suffered “emotional distress” and “fear” that it may have involved her own children or grandchildren, noting the murder of her own daughter just a few short years ago.

She also expressed concern for her job but said it wasn’t fear of retaliation by Busfield, instead expressing “a general and personal worry.”

In her declaration, Vigil continued, “I believe parts of my statements were later presented without the full context in which they were given, and I am providing this declaration so that my words and my knowledge are understood accurately.”

She went on to explain that while filming The Cleaning Lady, she became “friendly” with the twin boys’ parents, Angele LaSalle and Ronnie Rodis. (They reported Busfield to authorities after the twin child actors accused him of child sexual abuse while they worked on the Fox series).

At the beginning of season 2, Vigil “began cutting Ronnie’s hair outside of the show,” her declaration reads.

“Toward the end of season 3 and after it wrapped, Ronnie often asked me questions about when season 4 would start and seemed excited for his boys to come back on the show. Later, before filming started on season 4, Ronnie told me that he found out they would have to audition to keep their part,” Vigil wrote in the document. “I continued to cut Ronnie’s hair, and, only after his boys were recast did he start telling me that he thought Mr. Busfield had been inappropriate with them. He also told me that he had heard allegations about Mr. Busfield from the 1990s.”

Vigil clarified what she said happened next.

“After Ronnie told me that he thought Mr. Busfield had been inappropriate, he asked me if I would sign a declaration for the lawyer that he hired in California. I agreed to do so. After that, another lawyer called me who I understood was conducting an investigation for Warner Bros. I assumed that investigation stemmed from Ronnie hiring an attorney,” Vigil said in the declaration. “When the investigator called me, I called Ronnie to ask what I should do. He told me not to speak with the investigator, so I did not.”

Vigil ended the declaration by stating that she styled “both of the twins’ hair and would have to be on set to do hair checks between takes. During that time, I regularly saw them under the direction of Timothy Busfield. I never observed anything unprofessional, inappropriate or sexual.”

Earlier this month, an arrest warrant was issued for Busfield with charges including two counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and child abuse. The warrant accused the Hollywood director of inappropriate behavior toward a child actor on the set of Fox’s The Cleaning Lady.

In his November 2025 interview with the Albuquerque Police Department in New Mexico, Busfield denied having any “physical contact” with the boy or his twin brother.

Busfield ultimately turned himself in to the authorities but has continued to maintain his innocence while vowing to fight the allegations.

“I’m going to confront these lies. They’re horrible. They’re all lies, and I did not do anything to those little boys,” Busfield claimed in a video shared with TMZ. “I’m going to fight it. I’m going to fight it with a great team, and I’m going to be exonerated. I know I am because this is all so wrong and all lies.”

Busfield’s wife, Little House on the Prairie alum Melissa Gilbert, has stuck by his side.

“During this period, her focus is on supporting and caring for their very large family, as they navigate this moment,” Gilbert’s rep told Us in a statement on January 13. “Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time.”

During a hearing on Tuesday, the judge ordered Busfield’s release ahead of his trial. The ruling comes with stipulations, including that he must appear at all hearings, not possess a firearm and cannot have any contact with the alleged victims.
