One of the hairstylists for Fox’s The Cleaning Lady allegedly witnessed an example of Timothy Busfield’s misconduct.
A New Mexico police officer spoke with Danielle Vigil in December 2025, questioning her experience with Busfield, 68, when he directed an episode of the TV series.
“Danielle told me that, while she was working with two child actors who replaced the twins, she witnessed Timothy Busfield come into the trailer,” the warrant for Busfield’s arrest obtained by Luxury Handbag Shopping reads, with Vigil claiming that the West Wing actor kissed the two kids on their foreheads.
The report continued, “Danielle did say that both the children’s parents were present at the time but felt that the parents did not know the rules and etiquette.”
Busfield was named in a January arrest warrant after twin child actors accused him of child sexual abuse while they worked on The Cleaning Lady.
“Danielle said that everyone knew to avoid Timothy because he was creepy,” the warrant further claimed. “Danielle was very afraid of retaliation for talking with me and was afraid that she would no longer be able to work in the film industry.”
Busfield was also interviewed in the warrant, admitting it was “highly likely” that he had physical contact with the accusers.
“Timothy said it was a playful environment like he wanted,” the police officer wrote, alleging that Busfield recalled “no protocol” about touching children. “Timothy initially said, ‘It’s not allowed at all. There is no, there’s no protocol. I mean, I’m always around people, right? It would be, you know, in front of the parents.”
According to the report, Busfield didn’t “really remember” picking up or tickling the alleged victims.
“I don’t remember it, if it happened,” he said. “I don’t remember overtly tickling the boys ever but it wouldn’t be uncommon for me.”
Busfield surrendered himself to law enforcement officials in New Mexico on Tuesday, January 13, where he categorically denied the accusations.
“I did not do anything to those little boys,” he said in a video obtained by TMZ, vowing to “confront these lies.”
Busfield has been married to Little House on the Prairie alum Melissa Gilbert since 2013.
“During this period, her focus is on supporting and caring for their very large family, as they navigate this moment,” a rep for Gilbert, 61, told Us in a statement on Tuesday. “Melissa stands with and supports her husband and will address the public at an appropriate time.”
Gilbert’s lifestyle brand, Modern Prairie, also issued a statement at the time.
“Modern Prairie is aware of recent media reports regarding serious allegations involving a family member of our brand muse, Melissa Gilbert. These allegations do not involve Modern Prairie, our operations, nor our community,” a social media statement read. “Modern Prairie unequivocally condemns abuse in all forms and remains committed to values of safety, integrity, and respect. While these matters are personal and do not directly involve Melissa or the brand, we are respecting the privacy of the family as they navigate a difficult and personal situation. Our focus remains on supporting our community and continuing our work with care, responsibility, and intention.”
