Carl Radke got candid about how he’s handling the Summer House drama.
Carl, 41, opened up about the drama surrounding Amanda Batula and West Wilson’s romance during a book event on Tuesday, April 7. In a clip shared via Instagram, Carl said, “We’re all learning a lot of things like you guys are. These are my real friends, like people I care a lot about.”
The Soft Bar founder went on to say that he officiated his best friend Kyle Cooke’s wedding to Amanda in 2021 and is still close with West’s ex Ciara Miller, who he said he “adores.”
“I love Amanda,” he added. “It’s been really hard, but I think the comedy of it is I’m actually not a mess,” he said, referring to a recent TMZ street interview where Kyle, 43, revealed how his friends were doing amid the drama.
“It’s so funny,” Carl said with a smile. “This little moment of Kyle’s street interview holding a bag of dog poop while the interview is going on and that says that — which he texted me after [saying,] ‘Sorry, brother.’”
Carl also noted his phone call with Kyle was “emotional.” He then revealed that he’s also been in touch with Amanda and Ciara, 28.
“As someone who cares deeply about his friends, as an empath, I carry on some of that energy,” he explained. “Last week, I did have a sleepless night. I did voice-note Kyle and cry a little bit. Am I a mess? Slightly.”
Carl’s message comes after Amanda and West, 31, confirmed the romance rumors were true in March.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” the duo wrote in a joint Instagram statement. “Given the complicated relationship dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They continued, “Our connection grew out of a genuine, longstanding friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Their confirmation comes after Amanda announced her split from Kyle in January. West, for his part, dated Amanda’s close friend Ciara in 2023.
Amanda issued an apology for the situation on Friday, April 10, via Instagram.
“Hi guys, I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve obviously been MIA, but I wanted to come back on and say that I’m truly sorry to everyone I’ve disappointed and hurt, especially those I know personally who I’ve reached out to individually,” she wrote.
She continued, “For the sake of my mental health, I’m going to try to start living life with some sense of normalcy. If you see me out or posting online, please know that this still weighs very heavily on me. I’m not ignoring what’s happened or what’s unfolded. I’ll be at the reunion and will be addressing any and all questions honestly and directly there.”
