Blake Lively has begun her deposition for her lawsuit against It Ends With Us director and costar Justin Baldoni.

A source tells Luxury Handbag Shopping exclusively that the Gossip Girl alum, 37, has arrived for the New York City deposition by the 41-year-old actor’s legal team on Thursday, July 31.

Us has reached out to Lively and Baldoni’s reps for comment.

Earlier this month, news broke that Lively’s deposition was scheduled for July 17 in New York City. However, documents later obtained by Us confirmed the date had been postponed to July 31, with both sides agreeing to the change after social media guru Jed Wallace was dismissed from the case due to jurisdictional reasons. The extra time allowed Lively and Baldoni’s camps to regroup ahead of the deposition.

In May, Baldoni’s attorney Bryan Freedman raised eyebrows when he suggested Madison Square Garden as a location for Lively’s deposition.

“Since Ms. Lively is open to testifying, let’s make it count,” Freedman told People at the time. “Hold the deposition at MSG, sell tickets or stream it and donate every dollar to organizations helping victims of domestic abuse.”

Earlier this month, Lively’s rep told People that her deposition “should follow the same rules as every other witness in this case.”

The statement claimed Freedman was trying “to make this matter a public spectacle at every turn,” adding, “This is a serious matter of sexual harassment and retaliation, and it deserves to be treated as such.”

Lively previously requested that her deposition be held at a redacted location with all of those in attendance identified in advance. Baldoni’s legal team subsequently accused Lively of attempting to dictate and control the deposition by using her “celebrity status.” The judge ultimately sided with Lively, allowing her to choose the location of the deposition.

Lively and Baldoni have been embroiled in a legal battle since December 2024, when she accused him of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment on the set of their film, It Ends With Us, and purposefully creating a smear campaign against her. Baldoni denied the allegations at the time and countersued Lively, Ryan Reynolds and her publicist Leslie Sloane for $400 million, claiming extortion and defamation.

Prior to Lively’s deposition, a judge dismissed Baldoni’s lawsuit against her, Reynolds and Sloane in June.

Meanwhile, Lively’s case against Baldoni is scheduled to go to trial in March 2026.
