Cori Broadus is commemorating the first birthday of her and fiancé Wayne Duece’s daughter after her death.
In a Tuesday, March 24, Instagram post, Cori — who is the daughter of Snoop Dogg and wife Shante Broadus — recapped her day honoring late daughter Codi. (Snoop, 54, also shares sons Corde, 31, and Cordell, 29, with Shante. He is also the dad of son Julian, 27, from a previous relationship.)
In the video, Cori was seen releasing balloons at Codi’s burial site before gathering on a boat with her loved ones.
“Codi’s 1st Cday Recap🎀 forever my baby!!” she captioned the post.
Cori prematurely gave birth to Codi in February 2025. Months later, she opened up about life as a NICU mom.
“That girl is so feisty. That’s a feisty girl. She’s so resilient and strong,” Cori exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping in September 2025 of her daughter’s NICU hospitalization. “She just has so much character. The doctors and nurses always tell me, ‘Your baby got her mind. She’s smart. She’s alert. She knows what’s going on. She can hear. She can see. Yeah, the circumstances are not what you thought they would be, but it could be worse.’ That girl is just a sweet little firecracker.”
She continued, “The NICU is a different type of experience, just like you gotta know to know, and it’s not an easy place to be but the support is amazing. Sometimes I go in [the NICU] and I can’t stop crying, and I apologize. They’re like, ‘What are you [apologizing] for? This is normal. If you wasn’t crying, we would be worried. We’d be concerned, so just try to just stay close and just keep hope alive.’”
Codi was discharged from the NICU after several months in January.
“She’s home,” Codi wrote to Instagram, alongside a series of photos and videos of the pair in bed. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
Weeks later, Cori shared that Codi had died. “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori wrote via Instagram at the time. “20 days later? Dawg, I’m sick.”
Duece, for his part, also paid tribute to the pair’s daughter.
“I been [sic] the saddest since u left me, Codi Dreaux,” he wrote via his Instagram Story at the time. “But, I know [you are] at peace. Daddy will always love you. My baby. #LongLiveCodiDreaux.”
