Matt Lauer

Matt Lauer is a disgraced television personality, best known for his 20-year stint as the anchor of NBC’s Today show.

Lauer was born December 30, 1957 in New York City and started his career as a news personality on New York City’s local WNBC news. Lauer’s first role on a national program was in 1994, when he was a news anchor for The Today Show. He stayed in that role for three years before becoming the host of NBCs Today show, where he became a household name.

Lauer also hosted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the opening ceremony of the Olympics, and interviewed prominent guests like Prince William and Prince Harry. Lauer was fired from NBC in 2017. after being credibly accused of rape and sexual misconduct by multiple women.

The television personality was married to Nancy Alspaugh, a television producer from 1982 to 1989. After their divorce, he married Annette Roque, and dutch model, in 1998. The couple had three children and divorced in 2019.
