"She didn't let me wear my propeller hat, but it's fine," Davidson, 28, joked during an interview with Vogue while wearing a simple suit. Kardashian, for her part, 41, had a dramatic transformation with blonde hair to match her vintage Bob Mackie gown. The dress was previously worn by Marilyn Monroe when she serenaded President John F. Kennedy on his 45th birthday in 1962. “The idea really came to me after the gala in September last year. I thought to myself, what would I have done for the American theme if it had not been the Balenciaga look? What’s the most American thing you can think of? And that’s Marilyn Monroe,” Kardashian told Vogue about the concept. Monday marks the KKW Beauty founder's first joint appearance with Davidson at the Met Gala after they recently made their red carpet debut at the White House Correspondent's Dinner on Saturday, April 30. The reality star looked stunning in a sleeveless, silver gown while the comedian kept it clean in a classic black suit which he paired with some statement-making sunglasses. While the couple have previously kept their relationship low-key, they have been stepping out together more and more. Davidson even showed some major support for his girlfriend during The Kardashians Los Angeles premiere early last month. “I don't think it's his thing to be all up here with me. So, I'm just so happy he's here," the California native told E! News in April after Davidson accompanied her to the event but didn't walk the red carpet. “He's here to support me. It's my thing." In October 2021, Kardashian sparked romance rumors with the New York native after they worked together during her Saturday Night Live hosting gig. The pair were later spotted on multiple dates before they were photographed holding hands in Palm Springs, California, confirming their status. The KKW Beauty founder's romance with Davidson was her first public relationship following her split from Kanye West. In February 2021, Kardashian filed for divorce from West, 44, after nearly seven years of marriage. The former couple share North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 2. Later that year, Kardashian filed to be declared legally single and the request was granted in March.
