One small step for Sydney Sweeney, one giant leap for fashion. The actress launched a style supernova at her space-themed birthday bash, dressing in a dazzling star-spangled mini dress.
Sweeney’s futuristic ensemble — a shimmering constellation of crystals, metallic mesh and three-dimensional appliqués — was a time-traveling tribute to The Blonds’ Spring/Summer 2009 collection that was famously worn by pop icon Britney Spears during her Circus era.
“Welcome to planet syd 👽🛸🚀,” Sweeney wrote via Instagram on Monday, September 29.
She even channeled Spears, 43, in her photo shoot, as Page Six reported, sitting on the floor with her legs to the side — paying tribute to how the singer posed while promoting her 2008 album.
The garment with razor-sharp tailoring and a sculpted corset bodice paired flawlessly with her silver platform Rene Caovilla heels and icy jewelry.
Celebrity hairstylist Glen Coco Oropeza did Sweeney’s hair for the occasion, opting for voluminous, retro-inspired waves that were done to perfection. Makeup artist Melissa Hernandez did her glam, enhancing the Euphoria star’s beauty with a blended and bold silver-toned cut crease that added a touch of celestial drama with a soft pink blush and nude lip.
Nail artist Zola Ganzorigt — who has also worked with other big names including Kylie Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Sabrina Carpenter — slayed Sweeney’s eye-catching silver manicure.
The styling team behind Sweeney’s astral aesthetic included Paige Holtz, Athina Arostegui and Halle Olivia Smith.
Sweeney was celebrating her 28th trip around the sun on September 12, and rang in the milestone alongside her A-list friends including Glen Powell, Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez Bezos, Wiz Khalifa and Sexyy Red.
A source exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping that Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, Seth MacFarlane, Kiernan Shipka, Jessica Alba, Justin Theroux and Jen Meyer were also invited to the celebration where people dressed up as aliens, astronauts, space cowboys and more.
Another special guest who was invited to the soiree was none other than Scooter Braun. Although they haven’t addressed the status of their relationship publicly, a source previously told Us that Sweeney is “not exclusively dating anyone right now but is having fun with Scooter.”
“It is not serious,” the insider added, before revealing the Housemaid actress is “dating around and in her single era without having any pressure.” (Sweeney ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino in March after seven years together.)
As for how Braun, 44, feels, “Scooter likes [Sydney] and has been pursuing her,” a source previously told Us of the pair, who got closer after attending the nuptials of Bezos, 61, and Sanchez, 55, in Italy earlier this summer. “They hung out that whole weekend and had a lot of fun. They have been texting since and have seen each other a few times.”
At Sweeney’s birthday shindig, guests had a blast while enjoying a variety of themed activities, including a tarot card reader and aura reader.
Just one day after her party, Sweeney joined Braun and a group of friends for a fun evening out at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights.
