Nina Dobrev is an expert at cutting her own bangs.
Dobrev, 36, posted a clip on Instagram on Thursday, February 20, showing off her missed calling as a hairstylist. In the video, she went to town on her hair, making sure her fringe was flawless.
“Alright,” she said while crossing her eyes and trimming the center of her bangs. “Now she sides,” Dobrev said while grabbing slightly longer pieces and angling them.
While she did most of the work on her own, Dobrev had some assistance while cutting her strands. Someone grabbed a chunk of her mane and held it out for the actress to snip at. At the end of the clip, Dobrev fluffed up her bangs, showing how perfect the final product was.
“In case you were wondering how we dooooooo it ✂️,” Dobrev captioned the post. Celebrity friends and fans praised her hairdresser skills in the comments section.
“This is so impressive,” actress Chloe Bridges wrote, as makeup artist Soo Park added, “So pure, so simple…. So NINA! 😉.” One of her followers begged her to cut her hair, while another quipped, “WHO IS THIS DIVA?💜.”
This isn’t the first time Dobrev has given fans a look at her cutting her bangs. Moments before her fiancé Shaun White surprised her and got down on one knee, Dobrev was busy trimming her bangs for what she thought was a Vogue dinner hosted by longtime editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
After getting her makeup done by Park, Dobrev “decided to cut bangs mid-glam.” In order to keep her hair off her beat, her glam team covered her face with a paper towel and even drew a smiley face on it. Hairstylist Dawson Hiegert then worked his magic on her hair, trimming her ends and styling the rest of her tresses in beachy waves.
