Mikayla Nogueira’s hair just needed a little shaping. As the TikTokers say, “To the salon!”
“I am so overdue to get my hair done,” Nogueira said via the social media platform on Thursday, December 12, as she tugged her extensions away from her scalp proving how loose they really were. The beauty influencer then turned around and showed her grown-out natural blonde roots. “My extensions are literally hanging off my head,” she pointed out.
Nogueira, 26, first got all of her extensions removed, which she joked was the “best feeling because [they] were hanging on for dear life.”
Instead of her go-to jet-black dye, Nogueira decided to play with color during her hair appointment.
“I wanted to add a little dimension to my hair for the holidays, so I figured a pop of bright red would look really cool,” Nogueira said as her hair stylist pulled out the foils, revealing a fiery orange shade that was lifted from her black dye. The stylist then applied a bright red gloss to Nogueira’s mane, creating an edgy look that reflected in the sunlight.
Before the makeover was complete, Nogueira got her extensions sewn back into her hair.

In a separate TikTok, Nogueira showed off her glamorous (and healthy!) results — which took five hours to achieve — dark, shiny locks with curtain bangs that were loosely curled.
Nogueira explained that because the red is so deep, the hue was only visible in daylight. “Honestly, I do wish that it was visible without the sun. My hair just looks black in any other lighting but it’s really, really pretty.”
Fans praised Nogueira’s new look in the comments section, gushing that her mane was “giving cherry cola 🍒.”
“I love it. It’s not too crazy but a little pop of color,” a second fan added. More gushed that they loved how subtle the color was.
Before experimenting with scarlet, Nogueira donned mostly brunette strands with a hint of auburn in her curtain bangs and ends. While Nogueira has also tried out blonde highlights and dark brown tresses, it’s safe to say her burgundy highlights are her best look yet.
