Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard enjoyed a night out together in honor of the 2025 Emmy Awards.

Bell, 45, and Shepard, 50, arrived at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 14. The actress wore a black and white Giorgio Armani Prive gown with cutouts. Her white skirt featured crystal embellishments. She was draped in jewels from Bucherer Fine Jewellery. The actor, for his part, looked dashing in a classic black suit.

Bell was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Joanne in Nobody Wants This. She was up against Uzo Aduba for The Residence, Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, Ayo Edebiri for The Bear and Jean Smart for Hacks, the last of whom took home the trophy.

“I’m a rabid fan of all of them. I have a hard time picking favorites and I’m rooting for everyone, least of all myself, just because I think that there’s many more deserving women in my category,” Bell said of her fellow nominees in an August interview with Forbes. “When people say it’s just an honor to be nominated, I mean that so sincerely and with absolutely no sarcasm or bite in my voice. It is such an honor to be alongside these women that I look up to.”

Bell’s costar Adam Brody, who plays her love interest on the series, was in contention for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Brody was nominated against Seth Rogen for The Studio, Jason Segel for Shrinking, Martin Short for Only Murders in the Building and Jeremy Allen White for The Bear. White has won the category for the past two years, but Rogen took home the award on Sunday.

Nobody Wants This is also up for Outstanding Comedy Series, facing off against Abbott Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking, The Studio and What We Do in the Shadows. Hacks was awarded the prize last year.

Nobody Wants This follows an agnostic sex podcaster (Bell) and a newly single rabbi (Brody) as they fall in love. Their relationship is put to the test as they tackle meddling families and their different lives. Bell and Brody were applauded for their chemistry on the Netflix series.

“Even I can acknowledge watching it, like, ‘Whoa, that’s hot,’” Bell told e-talk in September 2024. “My husband said the same thing. Like, watching the first episode he was like, ‘Oh, my God, I want you to kiss him so badly.’”

Shepard also weighed in on what it was like to watch his wife’s steamy scenes.

“We watched that scene together, the kissing scene, which I’d argue is the very best kissing scene ever, ever put on film,” the Parenthood alum said at the New Yorker Festival in October 2024. “And my best friend, Aaron, from childhood, he goes, ‘Does she ever kiss you like that?’ No, I didn’t even know she could kiss like that.”

When asked whether his chemistry with Bell is as magnetic compared to her onscreen interactions, Shepard joked it was “not as good as her and Brody.”
