Kim Kardashian explained when it’s best to use fashion tape with plunging outfits, or when it turned to her plunging Skims bodysuit for an extra lift.
Kardashian, 45, took to Instagram on Wednesday, December 17, to demonstrate how well her shape wear works while wearing a low-cut top. “I have found my absolute favorite hack in the entire world,” she said. “And that is creating a Skims shapewear bodysuit that allows you to look like you’re not wearing a bra and that you’re naked underneath,” Kardashian added. “But, I do need a hold.”
“I need to feel comfortable — and I used to use the tape,” she explained. “I use tape up when you can’t see the rest.” She pointed to her back and gestured that if you can’t see the tape through the top, it’s still a good option. “There’s a time and a place,” she said.
“If everything else is covered, you need a bodysuit!” she exclaimed. “I’m gonna show it to you guys because it’s my absolute favorite thing in the entire world.”
Kardashian then unbuttoned her top and revealed the flesh-toned bodysuit, which featured a “deep plunge” and halter straps. “The back can go in so many different ways. It can go straight like a tank top, but I like the halter because it just holds me up really good,” she added.
The Skims founder then changed out of her first outfit, which featured a satin top with cape sleeves, a sage green skirt with a thigh-high slit and fishnet stockings, to try the bodysuit on with another look.
“It’s kind of sheer so I don’t want to tape up because then you’ll see the tape,” she explained while slipping into a black dress equipped with a cutout over her bust, long sleeves and a fitted, see-through skirt. “There we have it,” she gushed. “It looks like my boobs are perfectly sitting the way I want.”
“This is tape in a bodysuit,” Kardashian praised. “It looks like I naturally have perfect boobs.”
“My favorite bodysuit from @skims,” Kardashian captioned the post. Her celebrity friends and fans complimented the design in the comments section.
“Best bodysuit out there!!! 😍🔥,” wrote Olivia Pierson, while Amanda Hirsch added, “Perfection.” More fans added, “I’m so glad y’all finally did this because I’ve been NEEDING!!!” and “I’m buying it now.”
Kardashian previously launched Skims body tape in 2019.
“We are launching boob tape and we are launching it in three different shades of nudes,” she said via Instagram at the time. “When I started using [fashion tape], I would use a gaffer’s tape, which obviously was super uncomfortable. But this material is super soft and super stretchy — but not too stretchy because you want it to hold,” she continued.
“This material is so amazing to wear. It doesn’t really rip off your skin like the gaffer’s tape used to do,” she explained, noting that she used to suffer from “scabs and burns” from the material.
Back in 2008, she shared photos of herself using duct tape to achieve the lifted look before turning to a skin-friendly material.
