Kate Middleton has gone blonder than ever — and it’s about to be the hair trend of the season, according to one royal expert who predicts her light color will be the new go-to.
The Princess of Wales, 43, known as the picture of classic brunette elegance, showcased a much brighter hue while visiting the newly renovated gardens at the National History Museum in London alongside husband Prince William on Thursday, September 4.
Neville Tucker, owner of Neville’s hair salon in Mayville, which was recognized as one of the late Queen Elizabeth II’s favored spots, suggested Middleton’s hair makeover could potentially mark the beginning of a blonde revival.
“Kate’s gone for a strong look that is really noticeably different to how we are used to seeing her,” Tucker shared during an interview with Vanity Fair. “She has been playing with blonde tones for a while, but last year she was the darkest she had been in a while.”
“It makes the change quite dramatic,” the hair salon owner added. “I would say this is the blondest we have seen her. She looks as though she’s had a full set of highlights.”
Tucker said Middleton “championed the natural brunette look” when the chestnut hair fad was at its height, adding, “It was seen as more fashionable, but with Kate going blonder, it’s likely to spark a trend where more people are going to be asking for blonde or honey-toned highlights.”
The mom of three — who shares Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, with William — first debuted the look while spending time with her royal family at Balmoral in Scotland last month.
She was sporting a noticeably lighter mane while being photographed driving to and from church at Crathie Kirk near Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire on August 24.
In recent weeks, Middleton has returned to the royal fold after a miraculous update in her health journey. The Princess of Wales revealed in January that she was in remission after undergoing treatment, including chemotherapy, following her announcement that she was battling cancer in 2024.
“Kate’s outlook has changed, and her priorities have shifted,” a source told Luxury Handbag Shopping in August. “[She’s] emphasizing her family and her well-being over [intense] duties.”
