It’s a risky business — dressing for big awards shows, that is!
Kacey Musgraves came close to experiencing an embarrassing onstage moment at the 2014 CMA Awards in Nashville on Wednesday, Nov. 5, but quick thinking saved the day. The county star, 26, explained to reporters in the pressroom, that she had to ditch her underwear before hitting the stage to sing “You’re Looking at Country,” with Loretta Lynn.
“And just so ya’ll know, right before I sang, my panties came off,” Musgraves confessed.
Armed with out-of-this-world teased hair worthy of the legendary Lynn, Musgraves performed in a daring sequined minidress with large sheer side panels. The outfit clearly required the use of discreet undergarments. See more photos of Kacey’s CMAs look.
“They were the stick-on kind, I mean, just look at this dress,” the “Follow Your Arrow” singer said. “They were stuck on, and then they weren’t stuck on, so I literally had to rip ’em off and throw them somewhere.”
Although Musgraves picked up the Song of the Year award, she unfortunately left without her underwear: “In case you see them somewhere around here, they’re mine.”
