It’s official: Ellen DeGeneres is now a brunette.
DeGeneres, 66, subtly showed off newly dyed strands while enjoying a night out with friends at the Farmer’s Dog in the UK last week. For the occasion, she rocked a dark turtleneck sweater. Her signature blonde hair was dyed an ashy brown color and styled into a short pixie cut with her bangs brushed over her forehead.
In a video posted by Ellen’s pal, Australian pop singer Natalie Imbruglia, DeGeneres smiled and waved at the camera while enjoying live music.
“What a great night in the pub with @thecorrsofficial… the way a good pub night should be… acoustic set, a few drinks, great friends,” she captioned the post.
DeGeneres previously sported a longer pixie cut in March while celebrating the launch of Jeremiah Brent‘s book, The Space That Keeps You. At the time, her platinum locks were parted to the side with a slightly grown-out root.

The last time DeGeneres switched up her pixie cut was in 2020 with the debut of an edgy makeover seemingly inspired by Pink, her wife Portia de Rossi or both. Her blonde bangs were grown out and gelled up as the sides of her mane were trimmed short. DeGeneres pushed her ends down while gazing into the camera and donning a smolder.
“Here is my thirsty photo,” she captioned the post, in which she took a sip of water.
This isn’t the first time DeGeneres made headlines this week. On Thursday, TMZ reported that she and de Rossi, 51, moved out of their California home and are relocating in the Cotswolds, a rural town two hours outside of London.
