Move over, Boston Rob — Dylan Efron may soon have a new bromance with Team USA Curler Korey Dropkin.
Dropkin, 30, heard from the Dancing With the Stars alum after he and partner Cory Thiesse won the silver medal in mixed doubles on Tuesday, February 10. Efron, 34, sent Dropkin an Instagram DM after watching the gold medal match live in Italy.
Efron’s message was four words: “SHOW ME YOUR BICEPS,” written in all caps, Dropkin told Luxury Handbag Shopping exclusively while discussing his role in DICK’S Sporting Goods’ Team USA Ambassadors Program.
It wasn’t a random request, as funny as it might have been. Dropkin says Efron was referencing a moment that took place during the gold medal match.
“There was a moment during that gold medal game that somebody shouted to me to show [them my] biceps,” he said. “And so I looked over at them and showed them my biceps, right, give them a flex.”
Dropkin kept his phone off while he was still competing at the Olympics, only turning it back on after Team USA fell to Sweden in the final. Dropkin said he rebooted his phone to 400 unread text messages and 20,000 new Instagram followers, but Efron stood out.
“I’m hoping to meet up with him at some point, and I’m just a huge fan of his,” Dropkin said. “I watched him throughout Dancing With the Stars last season, so I’d be fangirling if I ever got to meet up with him.”

Dropkin and Thiesse, 31, have become two of the breakout stars at the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics. Their chemistry and close bond led some fans to wonder if the two are dating, but Thiesse is happily married and Dropkin is engaged to former USA Curling employee Gabby Tachis.
“She’s been right by my side for the last few years, supporting me through the highs and the lows,” he said of Tachis. “She sacrificed a lot to be with me.”
The pair live in Duluth, Minnesota, where they will return after Dropkin is done cheering on his Team USA teammates — and maybe meeting up with Efron, who is far from the only celebrity who took a liking to curling at the Olympics. Dropkin came away encouraged by the big names who followed along, helping raise the profile of the sport he grew up playing.
“The Kelces, you got George Kittle, it’s been amazing seeing other elite athletes and elite figures throughout this world take a loving to our sport,” he said. “My whole goal is to just display all my emotions, all my passion for this sport of curling to allow the audience around the world, around the U.S. to see that this sport is awesome.”
That goal works hand-in-hand with his partnership with DICK’S, where Dropkin said he actually worked for “several years.”
“I’m a big believer in sports and getting involved in sports at a very young age and so it’s just been great to be able to step into an ambassador role and hopefully help inspire some young kids to get into sports and dream big,” he said. “I love being able to be as involved in sharing my passions with other kids as well.”
The DICK’S Team USA Ambassadors Program allows athletes to partner with a youth sports organization of their choice to receive a $10,000 Sports Matter grant.
Dropkin is still working out the details, but he said he would like to give back to the junior curling community in Duluth and the Broomstones Curling Club, which he was a member of growing up in Massachusetts.
