Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and his fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, have called off their wedding, just weeks before they were set to tie the knot.

A representative for Ramos confirmed the news to People on Monday, March 9, after reports emerged that they emailed their wedding guests to announce the ceremony had been canceled.

“There wasn’t any rockiness in the lead up, and there was no big argument or blow up,” the rep said. “It was a mutual decision.”

Prescott, 32, and Ramos became Instagram official in November 2023 with Prescott proposing just under a year later. They share daughters Margaret Jane “MJ” Rose, 2, and Aurora Rayne, 9 months.

“They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way,” Ramos’ rep added. “It’s still shocking for them since this happened so recently, and they ask for privacy while they sort everything out.”

The rep also said the two are “both heartbroken that they’re not getting married.”

TMZ reported Monday morning that Prescott and Ramos had emailed the 250 guests set to attend their April 10 wedding in Italy with the news.

“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday April 10, 2026,” the email read. “It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”

The outlet had previously reported that Prescott and Ramos had been having problems for “months” and that the final straw came during a “blowup argument” at their joint bachelor and bachelorette party in the Bahamas. The argument was reportedly unrelated to a potential prenup.

The two had previously announced their engagement via Instagram in October 2024, with MJ, then eight months old, wearing a onesie that said, “Hi mommy, daddy has a question for you!”

The “o” in “you” was an engagement ring.

Luxury Handbag Shopping later reported that Prescott worked with Jason of Beverly Hills to create the 10-carat emerald cut engagement ring valued at $1 million.

“In my business, there are high maintenance clients and then there’s Dak,” Jason of Beverly Hills CEO Jason Arasheben told Us in a statement. “Dak was so easy to work with and was very intentional with every detail of this ring.”

He added that Prescott was “involved in every aspect and really wanted this to be a ring she would love. He wanted something classic but with a little flair and that’s exactly what we did.”
