His love of acting began after watching Star Wars when he was six years old. In 2001, he got his big break appearing as a hobbit named Merry in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The California-born, Georgia-raised star appeared in the Aerosmith "Cryin'" music video as a thief who tries to steal Alicia Silverstone's purse from a diner but then gets beats up.

The actor, 40, plays Lost's favorite con man -- and nicknamer -- James "Sawyer" Ford. "It will make sense," he says of the series finale. "I have faith that they're going to bring it around. But ... I've quit asking questions!"

After battling a two-year heroin addiction in the mid-'90s, the London-born Indian actor appeared in Bride & Prejudice, the Bollywood version of the Jane Austen novel, just before starring in Lost.

The 41-year-old star plays sexy Iraqi war hero Sayid Jarrah. "I sense something sort of spiritual about the character," he says. "That somehow there's something in him that's trying to atone for what he's done in the past."

The Australian actress' first big gig was as an alien-human hybrid in the TV show Roswell -- a part she landed one month after moving to L.A. when she was 18 years old.

The star, 28, plays Claire Littleton on the hit series. Although she disappeared in the fourth season finale, she will return as a regular. "We have bets on everything like that," she says of when characters get killed off. "It's sad losing people you like to work with, but it's that kind of show."

His acting debut was in a 1980 TV movie called F.D.R.: The Last Year, and since then, he has held minor roles in B-list movies and shows such as Miami Vice, JAG and The Twilight Zone.

The star, 57, has won an Emmy for his role as John Locke, the mysterious character who has an oddly close bond with the island. "I'd like to be more like Locke sometimes," he says. "I'm certainly a believer in what goes around, comes around."
