Lauren Conrad Through the Years: From ‘Laguna Beach’ to a Married Mother of 2

Lauren Conrad made a splash as the lead on MTV’s Laguna Beach in 2004 and decades later, viewers are still wondering: what is LC up to? As one of the first reality TV stars, Conrad’s life has captivated audiences. She initially lured viewers in because of her love triangle with teenage bestie Stephen Colletti and his on and off girlfriend, Kristin Cavallari. After starring on The Hills, where she brought fans along for her wild ride of becoming a fashion designer in Los Angeles, Conrad put the drama behind her and settled down with William Tell. Following their 2014 nuptials, Conrad and Tell quietly began living their life together in Southern California, raising two sons, away from the cameras. In 2026, she briefly returned to reality TV for Roku’s The Reunion: Laguna Beach, confirming it would be her last appearance in that realm. Scroll down to see Conrad’s evolution over the years:

2004

Conrad was introduced to fans on season 1 of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County, which she narrated. She also starred on season 2, although she was off at college in San Francisco while Kristin Cavallari narrated the sophomore season.

2005

Conrad dated fellow Laguna Beach High School alum Jason Wahler from 2005 to 2006, which was documented on season 1 of The Hills. The reality star famously skipped going to Paris with her Teen Vogue internship to focus on her romance with Wahler before their split.

2006

Laguna Beach spinoff The Hills followed Conrad as she moved to Los Angeles to attend the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) and intern at Teen Vogue after leaving college in San Francisco. Conrad led the series for five seasons, exiting in 2009.

2006 to 2009

Conrad briefly dated Hills costar Brody Jenner in 2006 before romancing Doug Reinhardt in 2008. She moved on with actor Kyle Howard, whom she dated for three years before their split in 2011.

2009

After The Hills ended, Conrad launched her first clothing company, LC Lauren Conrad, at Kohl’s which has been going strong for 16 years as of 2025.

Conrad also added author to her resume in 2009 with her debut novel L.A. Candy. The book series also includes 2010’s Sweet Little Lies and Sugar and Spice.

2011

Conrad’s high-end clothing line, Paper Crown, which included bridesmaid dresses, launched in 2011. It was discontinued in 2018. The TV personality created her LaurenConrad blog in 2011, documenting her fashion releases, book updates and personal lifestyle hacks.

2012

The designer initially met William Tell in 2002 when she was a teenager at one of his Something Corporate concerts. They were set up on a blind date a decade later on Valentine’s Day in 2012. (Tell was part of Something Corporate from 2001 to 2004, reuniting with them in October 2023 for a special Las Vegas show.)

That same year, Conrad penned Lauren Conrad Beauty, The Fame Game and Starstruck. Her final novel, Infamous, hit bookshelves in 2013.

2013

Conrad teamed up with pal Hannah Skvarla to create The Little Market, a nonprofit shop that empowered artisan women and underserved communities by selling their goods online and in-store.

2014

Tell and Conrad wed in September 2014. The following year, Conrad gushed to Luxury Handbag Shopping about her happy married life.

“It’s been wonderful so far,” Conrad exclusively revealed in May 2015. “I think it’s really different for everybody. For us it makes you officially family, which is really great, but as far as our relationship, we were really committed before, so it didn’t change a ton.”

2016

Conrad’s coffee table book, Celebrate, was released, marking her final lifestyle book (for now).

2017

“He’s here! We’re so excited to welcome Liam James Tell into the world!” Conrad announced via Instagram after giving birth to her and Tell’s first child that July.

2019

“Our sweet baby boy, Charlie Wolf Tell, has arrived!” Conrad shared via social media, confirming the birth of the couple’s second son.

2020

The mother of two created Little Co. by Lauren Conrad, a children’s clothing collection, in 2020. It is only available at Kohl’s and the store’s corresponding website. She also launched Lauren Conrad Beauty that August.

2022

“I’m very excited to introduce you to something I’ve been working on for years … my first fragrance, LOVED by Lauren Conrad,” she announced via Instagram. “Inspired by the sureness of touch and the strength of time spent together, LOVED is a familiar floral scent, designed to be the perfect gift for anyone you love, including yourself. I hope you love it as much as I do.”

2023

Conrad ended her blog after more than a decade, telling her fans, "Back in 2011, when blogs were in their early years, I decided to start a lifestyle site to share my love of cooking, crafting, fashion, beauty, and décor.”

She called the website a “very special place” where she’s “shared so many milestones, interests, and projects." Conrad noted that with designing as her “first love” she was shifting away from the blog to work on that side of her career and continue to “spend most of my free time with my husband and kids.”

That same year, she and Skvarla pivoted their focus for The Little Market, closing their brick and mortar in the Pacific Palisades, California. They decided to “focus on connecting wholesalers and buyers with artisan and producer groups,” according to the website.

2024

Conrad attended her 20-year Laguna Beach High School reunion in December, sharing a photo with former Laguna Beach costars and childhood pals Trey Phillips and Dieter Schmitz.

Conrad revealed via her Instagram Story that there were cocktails with decorative honeycomb, nametags with her 2004 class photo and photo ops throughout the festive evening.

2026

After leaving reality TV in 2009, Conrad returned to take her final bow on Roku’s The Reunion: Laguna Beach, which premiered in April.

“I don’t really do anything anymore and I would love to put a pin in my career on television,” Conrad told former castmate and teenage rival Kristin Cavallari on an April episode of her “Let’s Be Honest” podcast when asked why she agreed to the televised reunion. “[I thought] it would be really cool to end my career with the same people I started with.”

Conrad exclusively told Us that same month while some of the OG Laguna Beach cast were "hesitant" about being filmed again, none of them had regrets after reconnecting for the project.

“Walking away from the days that we shot, everyone separately got emails and texts being, like, ‘That was so great. I’m so glad we did it,’” she explained. “It was a really positive experience.”
