Long before they began dating, Duhamel told In Style: "My recurring dream involves the lead singer of The Black Eyed Peas. Oh, my god, I've got the biggest crush on her! God, she is hot!"
"I waited until I was 36 to propose, and I'm really proud of that," Duhamel tells Women's Health. "Sometimes guys get caught up in who they think is the right girl and what friends and family push on them, but for me, it was a natural step. I got the best girl in the world."
"Fergie's a real total star. I'm more subdued than that," Duhamel told Best Life in 2007. "I'd rather sneak up on people. But that's what makes us work. We have similar fundamental values. We both grew up in similar families. She's just got a great soul."
One year into their marriage, Fergie told ELLE: "You grow a deeper love for each other, besides the initial lust and falling in love and all of that. You come to know each other a lot better, you grow together, and it makes you love each other that much deeper."
Duhamel tells Women's Health that married life "feels more chill now because there's less pressure. We've done it, we're together, we're happy -- and it's a great feeling. Everything I do now involves [Fergie], and I love that. Sometimes it amazes me that she chose me."
"My husband and I like playing music from our childhood," Fergie tells Us. "Music which makes a difference to us. It's a bonding thing. It's nice to share music from your past with someone you love because you learn a lot more about the person."

The rocker sweetly leaned into her handsome beau at the charity event, which focuses on suicide prevention for LGBT youth. That same month, Fergie told Us she wanted something simple for the holidays. "For my dogs to use the bathroom outside!" she joked.
One month after this red carpet moment, the couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary. "It was magical, ethereal and a night we'll never forget," Fergie previously told Us of her Malibu, Calif., wedding. Duhamel added: "The wedding was about incorporating both our personalities."
"Hello #Coachella!!!" the musician wrote via Twitter, as she and Duhamel attended the California desert musical festival. "We like each other. We like hanging out together and we have fun," she told MTV that month. "We have fun in the kitchen cooking and singing silly songs."
Road trip! The lovebirds attended South Port, North Carolina's festival to celebrate the patriotic holiday. "We're going to focus on raising a human and then maybe we'll get a dog after that," Duhamel told Us of their future baby plans at a PetSmart Charities event one month earlier.
The mom-to-be celebrated her first baby shower (one of three bashes!) at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills. "Josh walked her in and stayed with her -- they are so cute and in love!" a source told Us. Another added: "It was actually quite chill and relaxed, but everyone had a really good time!"
Growing belly! On Aug 16, Fergie celebrated her third baby shower at Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood. Guests posed in a photo booth, and enjoyed dinner and cocktails. "Earth mommy," Fergie tweeted, as she wore a multi-colored dress with a red flowered headband.
He's here! Fergie and Duhamel welcomed their son in L.A. on Aug. 29. Three weeks later, they debuted their little bundle of joy via social media. "Axl Jack Duhamel Day 1. Life is good," Duhamel wrote. The new mom added: "Axl Jack Duhamel. Day 2 of life. Hearing test complete. All systems go. #chillin."
Two months before the lavish event, Fergie spoke to Luxury Handbag Shopping about juggling being a wife and mother as a working woman. "It's all about balance,” she said in April 2014. "It's all about increments. I've been learning to balance my time in smaller chunks. That's the secret.”
Duhamel and Fergie dressed as Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld and his beloved cat, Choupette, for a Halloween party. The singer captioned a photo she shared from the event: “Karrrrrrrlllll and choupette... ooh la la... #chanel #funhalloween.” Three months later, Fergie revealed to Allure how the couple made their relationship work. "My husband and I made a two-week rule,” she said. "We’ve already talked about how we’re going to have to trade off. He’s going to have to come on tour with Axl for a while, and then there’ll be a break. He’ll take a job; I’ll be on set with Axl."
The family of three stepped onto the field during a Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Boston Red Sox game. Nearly a year later, the singer addressed rumors about having more kids. “I have no idea what’s in the future. Right now, I just turned all my videos in yesterday to everybody. It’s like I’m birthing a different kind of baby,” she said in September 2017. "I feel like I’m birthing this thing out. It didn’t come from my belly but it came from my soul.”
The couple showed off color-coordinated outfits at the event, one year before announcing their split. "With absolute love and respect, we decided to separate as a couple earlier this year," the former couple confirmed in a joint statement to Luxury Handbag Shopping on Thursday, September 14. "To give our family the best opportunity to adjust, we wanted to keep this a private matter before sharing it with the public. We are and will always be united in our support of each other and our family."
