'Below Deck' Star Captain Sandy's Biggest Feuds Through the Years — and Where the Relationships Stand Now

Captain Sandy has found herself caught up in several feuds with her Below Deck costars through the years. Viewers were introduced to Sandy when she replaced Captain Mark Howard on Below Deck Mediterranean in 2017. The Florida native quickly initially had a friendly onscreen relationship with costar Hannah Ferrier — but it didn't take long for things to take a turn. During season 5, Hannah and Sandy's issues reached their peak when Malia White reported the chief stew for having Valium and a CBD vape pen in her cabin. The captain made the controversial decision to fire Hannah due to Maritime Law. The former coworkers continued to make headlines when Sandy shut down Hannah's claims that there was one-sided competitiveness between them. Sandy later raised eyebrows when her short-term gig on season 10 of Below Deck created a public feud between her and Captain Lee. Hannah Ferrier

The pair, who shared the Below Deck screen from 2017 to 2020, did not see eye to eye while filming the hit Bravo series. Following Hannah's controversial firing, the chief stew parted ways with the franchise and was replaced by Katie Flood and later Natasha Webb.

Where Things Stand Now: Hannah previously hinted to Us that Sandy tried to get in contact with her after their messy onscreen rift. In June 2024, Sandy revealed she saw Hannah while in Australia and that they were on good terms now.

Captain Lee

Sandy and Lee shared their separate points of view on social media after the Running Against the Tide author questioned his replacement's decision. While Lee expressed his frustration about being kept in the dark, Sandy shot back that she was in charge of St. David at the time.

Where Things Stand Now: The twosome have yet to interact publicly about their feud. In February 2023, Sandy surprised Below Deck fans when she threw some major shade by saying Lee was "not acting" his age. "I called him and said, 'Come back to your boat.' Because I had a girlfriend that was going to have surgery. Like, I didn't step on there to take over a show," she shared on Reality Checked at the time. "I don't want two shows. I like the Mediterranean. Are you kidding me? I like the Mediterranean."

Although Lee is expected to return to season 10 of Below Deck, Us broke the news that same month that he wouldn't be back in the next installment. Below Deck Adventure's Captain Kerry will be taking over for Lee as the crew films in Grenada.

Lee and Sandy are on cordial terms now.

Fraser Olender

During season 10 of Below Deck, Sandy and Fraser attempted to get on the same page in terms of the interior. According to the captain, Fraser was not pulling his weight as a leader due to the fights between his stews. The England native, for his part, wasn't thrilled with how his boss favored the deck crew.

"Pure rage. I've never been in a fight and said, 'It's not the right time to speak to me,'" he told cameras during a February 2023 episode after being ridiculed. "I've never felt so sickened by a captain in my entire life. I'm in actual shock."

Where Things Stand Now: As the show continued to air, Fraser admitted that it was an adjustment when Sandy came onboard.

"I think they have, overall, very different management styles," he exclusively told Us in January 2023. "I knew Captain Lee and I knew how he worked. I knew how he liked things to be run. He also trusted me and he gave me the confidence to be creative and enjoy my take on [it]."

Fraser and Sandy's issues seemingly will keep escalating in future episodes of the hit Bravo series.
