'American Pie' Cast: Where Are They Now? Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Jennifer Coolidge and More

From band camp to forever friends! American Pie became an instant classic upon its July 1999 release, in which viewers watched a quartet of high school seniors plot to lose their respective virginities before graduation day.

“I didn’t hear for a long [time],” Jason Biggs, who portrayed lead Jim Levenstein, exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping in November 2017 of his “excruciating” audition process. “I wanted it so badly! I knew I did well.

American Pie — directed by Paul Weitz and written by Adam Herz — also starred Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Seann William Scott to round out Jim’s group of East Great Falls High friends. Eugene Levy and Jennifer Coolidge also had scene-stealing roles as Jim’s dad and Stifler’s mom, respectively.

Jason Biggs

The New Jersey native starred as Jim in the teen comedy, his first lead role in a feature film. After American Pie was released, Biggs continued acting in movies such as Boys and Girls, Loser, Saving Silverman, Jersey Girl, Wedding Daze and Life Happens. The Broadway veteran also starred on TV shows Mad Love, Orange Is the New Black and Outmatched. The Angry Angel actor has hosted his own game show, Jason Biggs’ Cash at Your Door, since 2021.


The Amateur Night star married fellow actress Jenny Mollen in 2008, with whom he shares two sons.

Seann William Scott

Scott earned the role of Stifler in the coming-of-age flick. The Final Destination actor has since starred in Dude, Where’s My Car?, Road Trip, Stark Raving Mad, Old School, The Dukes of Hazzard, Role Models, Bloodline and Lethal Weapon. Scott has played Father Joe on FOX's Welcome to Flatch since 2022.

Scott has previously been linked to Jaime King, January Jones, Deanna Miller and ex-fiancée Lindsay Frimodt, whom he split from in 2012. Us exclusively confirmed in September 2019 that the actor secretly married designer Olivia Korenberg. with whom he shares a daughter. Scott and Korenberg divorced in May 2024.

Chris Klein

Klein portrayed Jim’s best friend Chris "Oz" Ostreicher. His acting credits also include Election, Rollerball, Just Friends, Hank and Mike, Authors Anonymous, Wilfred, Damaged and The Flash. Klein has starred on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias since 2020, portraying Dr. Bill Townsend.


The Illinois native married travel agent Laina Rose Thyfault in August 2015. They welcomed their first child, son Frederick, one year later.

Alyson Hannigan

Hannigan’s American Pie character, Michelle, notably shared the lessons that she learned at band camp with her school friends. The Free Spirit alum has also acted in Boys and Girls, Angel, Veronica Mars, Flora & Ulysses and Fancy Nancy. Prior to American Pie, Hannigan was best known for playing Willow Rosenberg on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which aired between 1997 and 2003. Two years later, the Kim Possible voice actress landed the role of Lily Aldrin on How I Met Your Mother. HIMYM aired between 2005 and 2014.


The Do You Take This Man actress has been married to actor Alexis Denisof since 2003, with whom she shares two daughters.

Tara Reid

The New Jersey native rose to fame with her role of Vicky in the 1999 comedy. The Days of Our Lives alum’s acting credits also include Cruel Intentions, Josie and the Pussycats, My Boss’s Daughter, Scrubs, Silent Partner, Vipers, Sharknado, A Royal Christmas Ball and Worthless.

The Memoirs of a Fighter star's personal life has also made headlines over the years. Reid has been linked to Steven Tyler, Tom Brady, JC Chasez, Joe Francis and Tommy Lee. The Van Wilder star also dated TV host Carson Daly until their 2001 split when they called off their whirlwind engagement. She later moved on with ex-fiancé Michael Axtman before their 2010 breakup.

Shannon Elizabeth

The Texas native played Nadia in American Pie. Elizabeth’s acting credits also include Scary Movie, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Love Actually, That ‘70s Show, A Novel Romance, Catch a Christmas Star, Swing Away and Playing With Beethoven. The Melissa & Joey alum also starred as Enrique Iglesias’ love interest in his 2000 music video for “Be With You.”


The professional poker player was married to Joseph D. Reitman, with whom she cofounded her Animal Avengers nonprofit organization, between 2002 and 2005.

Elizabeth tied the knot with Simon Borchert in 2021. Four years later, she announced their separation, noting that she was “genuinely excited” for her next chapter. The actress quietly filed for divorce from her husband, according to an April 2026 report from People, and  joined OnlyFans to “show off a more sexy side no one has seen” and “be free.”

Natasha Lyonne

The Poker Face star played Jessica in American Pie. Lyonne has also starred in Dennis the Menace, Slums of Beverly Hills, But I’m a Cheerleader, Plan B, Scary Movie 2, Kate & Leopold, Girl Most Likely and Sleeping With Other People. The Honey Boy actress went on to star as Nicky Nichols on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black and Nadia Vulvokov on Russian Doll.

The Ad Astra actress began dating Saturday Night Live alum Fred Armisen in August 2014. They split eight years later, which Lyonne confirmed in April 2022.

Over the years, Lyonne has been open about her struggles with addiction. In January 2026, she revealed that she had relapsed. Three months later, Lyonne told fans she was “back on her feet.” The actress also made headlines in April 2026 when she was escorted off a plane for allegedly not following flight attendants’ instructions. 

“I took a Lunesta once seated, to ensure some shut eye on the Delta One red eye flight to NYC,” Lyonne wrote via X after the incident. “Boarded seamlessly with just a backpack and sneakers, eager for a nap. Plan was to be bushy tailed & beauty rested, as I was meant to head straight to glam for a slot with our beloved @DrewBarrymore, upon landing. Was looking forward to seeing Drew & an in depth convo, but I guess ICE had other plans & I was detained instead. Sign of the times, I guess.”

Mena Suvari

Suvari portrayed Heather in American Pie and has since continued acting. Her credits include American Beauty, Spun, Six Feet Under, Rumor Has It, Factory Girl, Restitution, Happy Valley, Chicago Fire, Psych: The Movie, American Woman and What Lies Below. 


The Rhode Island native has been married three times. She first wed cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, who is 17 years her senior, in March 2000 before their split five years later. She moved on with Simone Sestito, tying the knot in June 2010. Suvari and the concert promotor eventually called it quits in 2011. The Grace & Grit actress later married set decorator Michael Hope in 2018, with whom she shares son Christopher.

Thomas Ian Nicholas

Nicholas portrayed the character of Kevin, who was linked to Reid’s Vicky. The Radio Flyer actor has also appeared in The Fear Inside, Rookie of the Year, Judge and Jury, Party of Five, Halloween: Resurrection, Grey’s Anatomy, The Bridge to Nowhere, Please Give, The Chicago 8, Adverse and Red Band Society.

Nicholas and ex-wife Colette Marino who split in 2022, welcomed son Nolan River in 2011 and daughter Zoë Dylan in 2016.

Jennifer Coolidge

The Emmy Award winner played Stifler’s mother, who infamously seduced one of her son's classmates. The Seinfeld alum continued to make her mark in comedy films including Best in Show, Legally Blonde, Legally Blonde 2, A Cinderella Story, Austenland, Like a Boss and Promising Young Woman. The Royalties alum also had featured arcs on TV shows such as The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Glee, 2 Broke Girls and The Watcher. 


The Shotgun Wedding star landed the role of Tanya McQuoid in Mike White’s HBO anthology series, The White Lotus, in 2021. Coolidge’s White Lotus role earned her an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe and a SAG Award.

Eugene Levy

The Canada native had a featured role as Biggs’ onscreen dad, notoriously confronting Jim about his pie activities. Prior to American Pie, the comedic actor rose to fame with roles in Foxy Lady, The Sunshine Hour, Double Negative, National Lampoon’s Vacation, Splash and Father of the Bride. The Hiller and Diller alum later starred in The Ladies Man, Serendipity, Bringing Down the House, Cheaper by the Dozen 2, New York Minute and Madea’s Witness Protection. The Finding Dory voice actor co-created and starred in Schitt’s Creek with his son, Daniel Levy, which ultimately wrapped in 2020.


The Taking Woodstock actor and wife Deborah Divine, who wed in 1977, share two children: Daniel and Sarah. Sarah also appeared on Schitt’s Creek, playing local waitress Twyla.
