Erin Lichy and Sai de Silva Explains Why Hybrid ‘RHONY’ Season Wouldn’t Work: ‘2 Different Worlds’ (Exclusive)

As rumors swirl about The Real Housewives of New York City season 16 official cast list, at least two apple-holders don’t think there will be a hybrid season.

“I honestly trust the Bravo producers,” Erin Lichy exclusively told Luxury Handbag Shopping on Saturday, November 15, while attending BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas. “They know what they’re doing.”

RHONY season 15 starred Erin, 38, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, Brynn Whitfield, Racquel Chevremont, as well as designer Rebecca Minkoff in a “friend of” role. Since the episodes aired in late 2024, both Brynn, 39, and Rebecca, 44, have announced their exits ahead of season 16.

While the rest of the lineup has yet to be announced, fans have speculated it could include members of the new Big Apple class and veterans from the OG iteration side-by-side.

“I feel like if they really thought that that was the way to go, then that’s the way we would go, you know?” Erin added on Saturday. “And I don’t think that they believe that that’s right for our group.”

Sai, 44, “absolutely” feels the same as her costar, telling Us that Bravolebs past and present live in “two different worlds.”

“I mean, I feel like we were [brought] on for a reason,” Sai noted. “We want to see that through, so I can’t wait to see this next chapter of RHONY.”

Elsewhere at BravoCon, producer Andy Cohen confirmed that the cast list is in place.

“We have a cast for The Real Housewives of New York City,” Andy, 57, said during his “Ask Andy” panel in Sin City on Sunday, November 16. “We are gonna be filming in the next few months. [I’m] very excited about that. More to come about that.”

It’s also possible that Andy and the Bravo execs could bring on new Housewives in NYC. A source previously told Us in March that the casting team were considering hiring “potential new ladies” to round out the cast.

“It depends on who they find,” the insider told Us at the time. “It’s unclear on how many cast members they are looking for — and who may stay or who may go. Producers are always putting feelers out to see if they can find anyone new.”

As for Sai, she further gushed to Us on Saturday how their journey reinvigorated the franchise.

“We’re super hopeful [the announcement will be made] very soon,” Sai told Us. “So much has changed between us. You know, our bond has gotten a lot stronger. Several years have kind of gone by since we first started this journey [and there’s] new babies, new homes, same relationships [and] some funny arguments. We’re going to continue to be ourselves, but we’re going to add something new to the mix that’s really gonna be exciting and just fresh and fun.”

Jessel, 46, for her part, noted that their group highlighted a “real New York” that was both fashionable and fun.

“It’s so energetic and electric, and we’re gonna continue that,” Jessel said on Saturday. “[We hit] all the up and coming spots, definitely. [The other day] I said Times Square still has potential, so let’s see it’s true.”
