Gavin Adcock and Zach Bryan have been feuding for months, but their tension came to a head earlier this month when they nearly came to blows at a music festival in Oklahoma.

According to footage shared by Adcock, the two country singers were standing on opposite sides of a fence at the event when they had a heated confrontation.

“Hey, do you want to fight like a man? Come open the gate,” Bryan said before shoving the gate.

“When you get death threats from Sack Cryin before you headline in his hometown,” Adcock wrote over the video, which he captioned, “Eat a snickers bro.”

Another video shared via Facebook shows Bryan climbing over the barbed-wire fence and attempting to run toward Adcock before several other men restrain him. Adcock, meanwhile, is seen walking away.

While Bryan is fairly established in the country music world, Adcock is a newer artist, having released his first major-label album in 2024. In March, he scored his first industry nomination, landing an Academy of Country Music Awards nod for New Male Artist of the Year. His third album, Own Worst Enemy, dropped in August 2025 and spawned the single “Never Call Again.”

In addition to embarking on his own headlining tour this year, Adcock opened for Morgan Wallen on several dates of his I’m the Problem tour.

“When we started playing 250-cap, 300-cap rooms, I told the band, I said, ‘I know we’re not making a lot of money right now, but I’m gonna work hard and y’all keep working hard with me and we’re gonna play stadiums one day,’” Adcock told Country Now in May. “So, that’s a great step in the right direction.”

Who Is Gavin Adcock?

Born in Athens, Georgia, and raised on a farm in the town of Watkinsville, Adcock started writing songs while he was a student at Oconee County High School. Initially, however, Adcock thought he would be a football player. After playing the sport in high school, he attended Georgia Southern University and was a nose tackle for the school’s Eagles until he was kicked off the team his senior year after a video of him chugging a beer on top of a moving bus went viral.

Kevin Whitley, then the team’s head coach, said that he “had a long conversation” with Adcock after the video appeared online, explaining that it violated a team policy.

“I felt I had no other choice but to remove him from the team,” Whitley said in an October 2021 press conference. “Having that conversation, I just felt like we had to move on from him. Gavin’s been an excellent kid during my time here. But we have team policies. When we choose not to follow those team policies, I had to make some tough decisions. This was a tough decision for me. I wish Gavin nothing but the best. I know he’ll do great things moving forward.”

Adcock went on to graduate from Georgia Southern in May 2022 with a degree in business management, but he quickly turned his eye toward music. He released his first album, Bonfire Blackout, in May 2023, and his major-label debut, Actin’ Up Again, followed in August 2024.

His live shows have become known for raucous crowds, with fans often throwing beers in the audience. In April, fellow country artist Braxton Keith stopped a show to warn concertgoers to stop throwing drinks and specifically called out Adcock. “I didn’t come here to get beer cans thrown at me,” he said. “This isn’t a goddamn Gavin Adcock concert, OK?”

Keith and Adcock later squashed their beef, and Adcock eventually admitted that he’s been trying to curb the can-throwing by having beers poured into cups. “If I think a show is going to be crazy … and they’re throwing before I even go out there, I’ll go to my security guard,” he told Rolling Stone in August 2025. “‘If you see somebody slinging beer cans, you toss them out in the parking lot on their head,’ and everybody in there will go, ‘I don’t want that to be me.’”

What Happened Between Gavin Adcock and Zach Bryan?

The pair’s feud began in July 2025 after Bryan refused to pose for a photo with a 14-year-old fan after a concert in New Jersey. In a since-deleted TikTok comment, Bryan wrote, “You’re not entitled after someone plays two and a half hours to a picture or a hello.”

Adcock responded with a tweet that didn’t name Bryan, writing, “If you can’t handle the criticism of a 14 year old why do people idolize you? That kid was head over heels to meet you and spent/ parents spent a ton of money to see you. He’s got feeling too and a you’re a ‘grown man’ nearly 30. They’re the only reason you are around.”

In September 2025, Adcock confirmed to Barstool’s Dave Portnoy that the fan interaction was the source of the beef. “I guess he’d been sitting at home twiddling his thumbs thinking about it for too long,” Adcock quipped, referring to their Oklahoma spat.

According to Adcock, Bryan “ripped his pants” while jumping the fence. “I was just being the bigger man,” he added, explaining why he didn’t try to fight Bryan. “Y’all like to call him the smallest man in the world. He seems to wear that [title] f***ing pretty good.”

Shortly after the fight footage went viral, Adcock posted another Instagram video himself chugging a beer. “Dude is the biggest ‘I’ll sue you bro’ of all time,” he wrote over the clip. “Too smart to fight little boys.”

Adcock made headlines in June 2025 when he went on a rant about Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album during a concert, saying, “You can tell her we’re coming for her f***ing ass. That s*** ain’t country music, and it ain’t ever been country music, and it ain’t gonna be country music.”

Beyoncé did not respond to his comments, but country singer Charley Crockett, who is Black, later defended the Grammy winner in a social media post. “Hey, country folks. @beyonce ain’t the source of your discontent. It was 25 years of bro country,” he wrote via Instagram before referencing Adcock specifically. “I don’t need to put down a black woman to advance my music. That’s just embarrassing to the idea of America, and I got no respect for it.”

Adcock responded by calling Crockett a “cosplay cowboy” and “dips*** of the week.” In an X post, he added, “I got more cows*** under my pinky than you have seen your whole f***in life.”

In a since-deleted August Instagram post, Crockett seemingly responded without mentioning Adcock by name, writing, “Black music made me. I will not apologize. Raised by a single mama. I am not ashamed. Many men have tried to destroy me. I will not lose.”

In May 2025, she attended the ACM Awards with him. “Wanted to take an extra moment to post how proud I am of this man of mine 🤍 you are so passionate, hard working, and full of heart in everything you do,” she captioned an Instagram snap of the pair on the red carpet. “Watching you chase your dreams and now being nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the ACMs is just the beginning. “All I know is it always works out,” Adcock wrote via Instagram after the hearing.

Shortly after the arrest, Adcock began selling a T-shirt featuring his mugshot and explained what happened the night of the incident. “I bought my dream car.. a 1973 Dodge Challenger. Over the past few months I’ve been putting money into it, getting it running as good as new, and decided I wanted to take it for a joy ride,” he wrote via Instagram. “The car ran great. I got pulled over and arrested for reckless driving going 103 in Wilson County, TN.”
