Lainey Wilson has taken her acting skills to the big screen.
The country singer made her onscreen debut in five episodes of Yellowstone, appearing as Abby. It was announced in April 2025 that she would be taking on a role in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him novel.
News broke in April 2025 that Wilson would be making her film debut as Amy in Reminders of Him, joining stars Maika Monroe, Tyriq Withers, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford and Nicholas Duvernay.
“This is crazy, I looked at myself in the mirror and I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is my first feature film,’” Wilson said in March 2026 while attending the Reminders of Him premiere. “That is something to call home about.”

Wilson plays the role of Amy, the shift manager at a local grocery store who hires Monroe’s character, Kenna. The two form a friendship throughout the film, with Amy often offering advice.

Yes, Amy plays the exact same role in both the book and the movie. The only difference is their physical appearance as Amy is written about in the books with brown hair while Wilson’s version is blonde.

Wilson gushed over her appearance in the film during the March 2026 Reminders of Him red carpet. She even arrived at the event without her signature cowboy hat.
“This is my very first feature film and I’m not wearing a hat in the feature film,” Wilson told Entertainment Tonight. “Honestly, I was on the carpet a minute ago and I went to go reach for my hat and it wasn’t there.”
Wilson really “enjoyed” her time on set.
“To tell you the truth, I never imagined that I would be doing any of this,” she continued. “I always wanted to write songs and tell stories. This has just, kind of, been another opportunity for me to tell a story.”
Wilson added, “At the end of the day, opportunities have come my way that I just didn’t even know could exist.”

Wilson also praised her costars at the film’s premiere. Her “favorite moment” was forging a friendship with Hoover along with the people she worked with.
“Good people on the set, and it’s cool to know people like that exist everywhere, and are in charge of making all this movie magic,” Wilson said. “It’s good to know that good things happen to good people.”
