Taylor Swift can thank her fiancé, Travis Kelce, for facilitating her “Opalite” remix with Chris Lake.

“When @killatrav & @taylorswift hit you about an official remix, you get it done,” electronic music producer Lake, 43, wrote via Instagram on Friday, February 13, sharing screenshots of his message history with Kelce, 36.

Lake first reached out to Kelce in January, noting it was “great to hear” that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Swift, also 36, had been listening to a handful of his songs.

“I’m going to take a crack at remixing this track for her,” Lake wrote. “No idea how I’ll get on, but I’ll do my best!”

Kelce replied the same day, calling Lake “a legend” for putting his own spin on “Opalite.”

“Love everything you come out with and ‘Chemistry’ is one of my favorite albums I listen to right now,” Kelce wrote. “Can’t wait to see how you put it together, man. Caught you and The Fish at Coachella a while back and [it] is still one of my favorite sets of all time.”

Three days later, Lake revealed to Kelce that he did “something really cool” for Swift’s song.

“Dawg I’m f***ing pumped!!!!!” Kelce replied. “LFG!!! 🔥🔥🔥 Can’t wait to hear what you cooked up.”

He added, “Bro how tf do you put s*** together this fast, man? It’s so good, dawg. I’m gonna be rippin’ this s*** every car ride!!”

Kelce further told Lake how Swift responded to the reimagined version of her Life of a Showgirl single.

“She loves it too!! She said her team’s gonna reach out asap,” Kelce wrote to Lake.

Swift, for her part, reposted Lake and Kelce’s text exchange via her Instagram Stories.

“Confirmed, Travis is my in-house house guy 🙏 ,” the pop star wrote on Friday, revealing Lake’s “Opalite” rendition is currently available for preorder.

Swift and Kelce have been together since 2023, during which time the NFL star has gotten a front-row look at her music-making journey. (Swift wrote and recorded The Life of a Showgirl during the European leg of her Eras Tour in 2024.)

“I’m just the lucky man that gets to be the support system for Taylor while she drops one of the coolest albums that I’ve ever listened to [and] that the world’s seen,” Kelce said on an October 2025 episode of his “New Heights” podcast. “I’m excited for her. I’m happy for her. Everything seems to have gone perfectly, all this planning. You see it from start to finish. She started this thing in the middle of her tour in Europe.”

He continued, “To see it all unfold and come together and her connect the dots — from the strategic planning to how the album was all going to look — then listen to the music, and everything comes together. … I’m just happy as hell for it because she’s happy with it. She’s proud of this and obviously I’m proud of her for going through the hoops to live out her dreams.”

Kelce, who proposed to Swift in August 2025 after two years of dating, was the presumed inspiration of several love songs from Showgirl, including “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Wish List,” “Honey” and “Wood.”
