Selling Sunset season 9 viewers saw Emma Hernan go ring shopping before learning she actually rejected boyfriend Blake Davis‘ proposal, and it turns out, that wasn’t the only time he got down on one knee.

“He just asked me that question. He said, ‘If I proposed to you again, would you say yes?’” Hernan, 33, recalled during a recent interview with StyleCaster. “I said, ‘I don’t know. You’re going to have to wait and see.’”

Hernan noted she had “no idea” whether she would say yes.

“When he proposed, that was not even when we were filming season 9. It was season 8. He’s proposed a couple of times,” she revealed. “I’m gonna get in trouble for saying this.”

Hernan’s personal life has been at the center of Selling Sunset since she joined in season 4. After being falsely accused by Nicole Young of having an affair with a married man, Hernan returned in season 9 and unveiled her romance with Davis, much to the dismay of then-BFF Chrishell Stause of.

After weathering major ups and downs, Hernan got back together with Davis — and distanced herself from Stause, 44. Before the season premiered, Stause accused Davis on social media of using a racial slur and mocking pronouns. (Stause’s spouse, G Flip, uses they/them pronouns.)

In an exclusive interview with Luxury Handbag Shopping, Hernan defended Davis and explained her side. “He did not say that pronouns were dumb. He would never say that. He accidentally said ‘wife’ [G Flip]. When he said ‘wife,’ I told him and I explained it, and it was the first time he was learning about it and he was trying to be good,” she told Us this month.

Hernan continued: “It rubbed Chrishell the wrong way, and she’s protective of G and she’s an amazing person, so I don’t blame her for that. But he didn’t mean anything by it. He did not say pronouns are dumb or [were] stupid. I was right there.”

Stause — who has since announced her departure from Selling Sunset — stood by her claims during the season 9 reunion.

“I am frustrated because I have gotten no accountability from her. I am sorry I put it on social media. What he said, I am sorry I repeated it on social media. I was extremely disappointed that you would still date someone with those views for a year and a half,” she told Hernan in the reunion special. “I tried as hard as I could to be there as a friend for you. Every single action I ever made was out of care and love for you. I just want you to be happy and be cared for by somebody and know how to treat you. I am happy to step back.”

Davis has yet to publicly address Stause’s claims, but he previously shared a look at their Instagram DMs.

“Hope you know that I do love you very much and support you and very proud of you and all of your success and your wonderful relationship and support to my GF,” he allegedly wrote to Stause in November 2024. “I knew we disagree on things and that’s ok but I do think very highly of you. I really do pray that one day we can have a great friendship. Happy holidays and I hope many blessings [come] to you and your family/friends!!!”
